Changed out all the rear lites to 3457K krypton bulbs... (took a whole box of 10)
Including the reverse lites (stock 3156 single contact - but the double contacts work fine)
These are 40w/3w vs stock 30w/3w....
Much better now.... unless you are too close!!!
Especially in reverse with the double 5% tint...... LOL
and they don't use anymore juice than 3157s....
Now to find some 3457NA/K for the front turn signals.....

SO.................The whole purpose is to have the lights "Brighter" than OEM...correct...and these are the best IYO .....is this what this is all about---not that something is wrong and we need to take action on........?........thanks.

marauderman, It's just about making them brighter, not something wrong.

I was informed on theway to Marauderville that my tail/brake lights looked dim. Now I have mine backed out.
I'll have to look into the brighter bulbs................
Thanks

they are just brighter than stock - without using much, if any more juice.... (see krypton flashlite bulbs)
Thought you Marauder guys might be interested since your tail lenses are a little darker than our CV ones....
Here in Florida we have blind old people driving around (looking for some Mouse) who don't pay attention...
And I want to make sure they are paying full attention when I hit the brakes...
Normally, I would fill the tails with leds, but I don't see a relatively easy way of removing the lens from the body of the tail...like I did with the Impala.
I used 3496s (ipo 2057s) on the Impala, before the led mod and they were great...
These are just a krypton version for the blade type bulbs we use....

I bought them from one of the local parts distributors....(I work at a Kenworth dealership)
Brand was Eiko...
Box of 10 = $10 or a buck a piece....
Sometimes Napa can get this kind of stuff - caution on pricing -
Ricer stores have a lot of this kind of stuff...
Probably AutoZone too...

I tried to explain this issue for those of us who tinted our tail lights some time ago. I also passed it on at Ennis. I hope your thread gets better results. The 3400 series bulbs have a higher candlepower and look quite nice without burning significantly brighter. This is a good and safe upgrade. Thanks for bringing it to LIGHT.
