View Full Version : Does your wife or girlfriend like your Marauder?

I am curious if anyones wife or girlfriend feel like an old lady (we are 35 yrs old) driving or sitting in a "big grandpas looking car". My wife had mixed feelings. She likes the power, comfort/safety and color DTR of the car. But at times she feels awkward sort of like and old lady when driving the Marauder because its a big car and she notices a lot of guys looking at her driving it. Anyone else care to share.

This is how I feel about my Marauder everyday.....:banana2:

My cousin is in her mid 30's and is always talking about how funny it is that everyone thinks shes a cop driving around. Ive never heard her say she feels old driving it and shes on her second MM.

I'm single so I'm not really too sure about the whole wife thing. Can you trade those in for new ones at the dealership??

Traded in my Ranger for my Marauder... Girlfriend said I would miss the truck... Everytime we drove together I would romp on it and say "I still don't miss the truck"... oh yeah... and she is not my girlfriend anymore!

I found this great girl who is somewhat into cars and complimented mine when she first rode in it... she liked the gauges and the exterior look of it... she is still around! haha

I've always said that this is the car women love to hate. Powerful, aggressive, sinister...it took 2 months before my wife would even get in it. However, after she finally got into it, her first comment was "this is really nice!" She now loves it, almost as much as I do.

my 50-something wife is quite happy driving the MM. She lives to blow the doors off the local Camaro girly boys.

My wife lets me drive my car sometimes (like today:D). She loves the car and the power to pass the Minivans. It's a matter of her perspective I guess. She could be hauling the grandkids around in a minivan or SUV, but she loves this bad looking MM.

I remember 35. I thought life was almost over at that point.... 40  "OMG" was just around the corner and that was really old. Well, I hit 50 a few weeks ago and I think I'm just hitting my stride. More Perspective, mine...

My wife owned a 01 WS6 Trans Am 6Spd and some mods but she loves the DOHC feel in the MM. She was driving back from work in the MM and a 05 or 09 Mustang GT was trying to play, so they did a 50mph pull and took it by 5 cars. Girls dig the MM.

I've been single for awhile.

But Sam (PantherP71)'s girlfriend saw it at our winter cruise and told him that the car was "hot" and that he needed to buy one.

Guess what he did within a couple weeks.

My wife calls the Marauder 'her car'. When I call it 'my car' she glares at me :P
When we first met I was driving an ex-cruiser, and she LOVED it. Reminded her of the Blue's Brothers. Now she's obsessed with big Fords, because it reminds her of our early days together.
THERE IS NOTHING GERIATRIC ABOUT A CRUISER OR MARAUDER!!!!!!!! Your girl friend is way off, bro.
EVERYONE stares at my car as I drive it, especially guys, and it's not because they think 'oh man, what a geriatric ride'. They stare cause they think it's such a bad-ass ride. Your girl friend is projecting her story when she sees people look. Common psychology, but she's way way off IMHO. If you aren't tinted, that could help change her mind.

Actually, quite the opposite for me. My wife is >cough< >cough< years old; but says that the MM makes her feel like 35 again. Of course, she doesn't mind riding with Grandpa anyway. ;)

My wife liked it because I did. She enjoyed the comfort and power. She always enjoyed riding in it but didn't like to drive it. Too big for her she would say. She drives a G35 sedan so I can understand the feeling between the 2.

I like it better when shes doesn't like to drive my cars anyways. We are both 30 and never once did she call it an old man car. Now my 20 year old sister said that but I took for what it was a comment by a 20 year old kid. Sorry it doesn't use teriyaki sauce for gas and sound like a thousand mice farting when I stomp on it.

lolz

Actually no I really think I changed the way she looks at the Marauder and big cars in general. She knows my passion for my Marauder far exceeds anything else. And she absolutely loves riding in it. I don't let her drive it though.

It's funny, because she knows I'm so obsessed with the Marauder that she will text me or call me whenever she sees another on the road. I've got her trained to look for them now! hahaha

My girlfriend shows indifference towards my MM. She feels that there is something special but she refrains talking about it because she is not interested in cars.
On the other hand, she hates my MGM and she likes her Subaru (easy to park even on slippery surfaces...).

My wife likes the fact that I only have 1 car to blow money on now!

She likes the big comfy interior and loves cruising in it, with me that is, she has yet to get behind the wheel. Once I get the blower installed I'm going to have her get on it in a safe place, that will be PRICELESS. She never drove any of my fast cars since she doesn't know how to drive a "car with all those pedals", her favorite term for my fun cars.

She's a wonderful mom, great girl, stunningly beautiful and put up with me for 23 years so she's a keeper.

To everyone claiming their wife says its an old man car, Take them to the track just one time, line up with with your average GT, T/A, or Camaro, and smoke um hard!
Believe me this works quite well, Then it will just be a jealousy thing from there on out like I have going on now. The time and money just kills her. At least she knows her job, checking for nicks on her side of the car everytime we leave a store!

Also my woman has a running estimate in her head of dollars to be spent on a very shiny ring and keeps telling me that she's next. But thats cool with me because as we all know are cars are never done! I hope she's good at waiting LOL.

I'm 29 and she loves it, says she feels safe in it, (compared to her Civic...Duh) she states she doesn't get tossed around on the highway with it. I've owned the car for 8 months and get nothing but positive comments on the car, never a old man statement.

Put a exhaust on it to give it a bit of "personality" and the old man persona will go away.
