I been put in charge of the money that was raised by the raffle of the Nav unit donated by Johns stereo.
My question for you guys is what would you like to be done with the money? I can use it and buy water, drinks, snack, etc for us under the tent or I could put together a dinner for us on Saturday night or a breakfast on Sunday morning.
I personally would prefer a ton of refreshments under the tent for us because of the crazy heat, plus it would save trips and money at the snack bar.
Im leaving it up to you guys.

Paul, I agree that going out to find something edible at the food stands is not a pleasant experience. What if we treated this more like a potluck picnic? Perhaps if a bunch of us brought coolers and LOTS of ice, we could all bring cold drinks of choice. I'm bringing snacks like cookies, brownies, lemon squares and I'll take requests. (Give me ample notice and I'll bring it.) As far as food, if we could bring a grill then everyone could bring something to cook. Otherwise it should be easy to bring cold cuts/cheese, rolls, condiments etc. for sandwiches. Chips etc. are also easy. Eric and I will be happy to help out in anyway needed. If you think this would work, maybe a sign-up list would be useful. We would also need paper goods, cups, etc. Let me know what I can do!

MM.net is supplying liquid refreshments (water & hydrating beverages) and light snacks, which I'll be bringing, just like last year. I checked about a Sunday breakfast which we were hoping to offer, as well, but after a bunch of phone calls, and a web search, couldn't find anything that sounded any good. There's a Pancake place, but they won't take reservations and advised against showing up there with a group.
Perhaps a tailgate party would work, with grills and such, but I'm just throwing out ideas and we are positioned to support any effort you guys might suggest.
PS: A sunday breakfast, hoasted by MM.NET is a grand idea, and, perhaps, someone else can find a location; all the while, remembering, that most of the hotels serve complementary breakfast's these days.
:thinker:
:hmmm: Hmmm, I wonder what our friend, Tom is doing with his :food:PIG Cooker:drool:, these days.

Its usually takes me about 3 hours. Im leaving Queens around 6am Friday morning, then we do our usual stop at the waffle house, and its on to the show.
Where in NY are you? Krytin is heading out from LI and met us at the waffle house last year.

I spent 8 hours on my car yesterday compounding and glazing. Today I dropped off my tail lights and rear panel to have my S55 design resprayed professionally and have my trim piece repaired. Then its one more wash and a glaze before I leave.

I suspect that some of us may rally at the "Embers Restaurant" in the Hotel Carlisle ..... or maybe do the pizza & beer thing in the parking lot. If Saturday is anywhere near as hot as last year .... Pool time may follow immediately.

If we're doing the Embers, should we have a reservation? If it's that hot it might be nice to be in air conditioned comfort.;)

I would say yes to a reservation at "Embers" if we want to sit in a group. Getting a handle on how many will be the issue. Maybe 12-15 ???

I have the T-shirts,the trophies are set up and ready to go and everything is looking good so far.
BTW the pool in there is so warm that it wasnt really refreshing. I lifted my head out of the water for 2 minutes and my hair was completely dry.

I just received a 'PM' from Jonathan/SMOKE and he is making a placard for my Marauder!
That is really cool of him.
(I bought Zack's registration so I will be bringing my Marauder up on Saturday morning.)
I was wondering if we could also make stick on name tags so that I can place a real name to the face and screen name...?
There are a lot of members who I have not met, plus my memory stinks.

I think Jonathan made name tags for us last year too. Don't know whether he's doing it again this year.
Joe .... you are only in the early stages of C.R.S. Just wait till you start the transition to C.R.A.F.T.

For my 2 cents worth . . . . .
I am at the show from before 8 am to after 5 (sometimes after dark) all three days.
I'd rather have food and/or refreshments on the grounds than meet up outside the fairgrounds. I don't want to lose out in a bargain shopping because I didn't roll in until 9:30 am (that has happened). Staying in a hotel outside of Carlisle with 2 other people also adds to the inconvenience for me to meet up with a group.
That said, if everyone wants to meet somewhere else, I'll try to get my party to accommodate me.
Cheers!

I know 21 of 30 members "by sight" that will be part of the Saturday morning crowd per the poll. Still have to match faces with screennames for some of the others.

Loco & myself " PaCammer" will be there... Our Vortec died last week so we are 2nd day fedex shipping in an upgraded replacement. (JT-trim) It should be in on Monday. We are gonna scramble to get that installed & then complete the detailing... Can't wait to meet everyone & I think refreshments/snacks under tent is a good way to proceed. It will also facilitate interaction between owners under the tent so everyone doesn't wander off to find refreshments.
Good luck to all & see ya there....
