Took my two best girls and one of my daughter's friends to the ballpark last night to see the Washington Nationals vs. the Baltimore Orioles. This was my first trip to the new DC ballpark. Very impressive. I like it. It is well laid out with lots of amenities and good sightlines. We were on the Club Level courtesy of some tics from my company.
Due to all the hype about traffic and parking, I planned to arrive early and avoid the rush. Parked in Lot/Garage "C" just beyond right center field. There was live entertainment on the centerfield plaza and some very interesting "motion statues". We had dinner at the "Red Porch" restaurant right in centerfield overlooking the playing field. The "Red Loft" Bar and Grill is just above. Both have very nice seating areas.
Final Score: Orioles 2 - Nationals 1. The Orioles were robbed of a homerun in the first inning on a great catch in centerfield over the bullpen fence. Another long shot to left center hit the top of the fence and bounce up and back onto the playing field for a triple. That one should have gone out as well. The O's made two Little League mistakes (calling a pop fly to short center & running to 2nd on a one-out pop fly to center) - but it didn't affect the outcome of the game. I was routing for both teams. :D
Game ended at 9:45 PM and I was home by 10:30 PM. No problems at all.
OK Rich ..... Who is this?
