Now that I've read this unique adaptation...I might have to utlilize a modified version.
I have been unsuccessfully chasing a slow oil leak from my remote mount oil filter set-up.
I have disassembled it and remade all of the fittings again with sealant, but still have a slight oil leak.
I believe that the pipe thread connections are the cause, as pipe threads seal by deforming the threads as you tighten the fitting.
You should only 'make' a pipe thread connection once.
Even with sealant, the oil pressure forces a leak past the threads.
I've been sticking a rolled up paper towel around the fittings, but a Maxi-Pad would work a lot better & soak oil up longer!
(I wonder if they come in 4 door sedan sizes?)
