Old man comes into my dealership to buy a brand new Lincoln Town Car.

He hops in the drivers seat with his wife in the back and backs out of the parking spot and he puts it in drive. He thought his foot was on the brake so when the car started to go faster he just kept pushing down harder on the throttle pedal.

He ended up driving 3/4 of the way around the dealership and when he came around the front of the dealership he was drifting sideways through the service lane.

Old man got some skills yo.

The salesman in the passengers seat kicked the old mans foot of the throttle pedal at 75 mph just before they hit the first car.

Started off by tagging the back corner of this Cougar:

Then they hit the Rodeo in the back right 1/4 panel:

The Rodeo then got pushed over into the Kia that was parked next to it:

Good thing the Town Cars have a good front end crash rating:

$50,000 car that had 4 miles on it. It had never been driven off the lot before:

Oh................

I park my truck right behind all of this mess:

Three of our customers got a nice phone call yesterday.

"Thanks for bringing your car to us for service. It's totaled."

Why did the salesman join them for the ride? I always thought it was to help you keep yourself under control/ not do crazy **** with the new car.

That last picture is really very complete, with the body shop, car rental agency and what one could imagine to be a hospital/medical building in the background. And the build sheet still attached to the window!

To the OP, sorry about your truck, man.

You're joking right? When I test drove my Marauder, I had the salesman in the back seat going, "Punch it, so you can hear the gear wine"

Nice.
No, I've never test driven a brand new car from a dealership. I haven't yet felt the need to throw 50% of the purchase price out the window. Buying used, they usually say "here's the keys, take all the time you need".

JEEZ!

What a friggin' disaster!

That old fart piledrived a brand new Lincoln and ...what.....3 other vehicles!?

I have no problem with competent older folks driving...it is the incompetent geezers like that who need to have their licenses revoked.
Florida is a joke....more blue hairs running people over as they jam on the 'brake pedal' than you can imagine.
Every state should have mandatory driving tests for license holders over 65.

(Actually, they should have driving tests every 5 years for anybody, regardless of age, who has a license. Way TOO many morons on the road.)

not funny at all. If I were the owner of the dealership I'd kick some major ass.

Aw, come on, it'll buff right out. :D The old guy that did all the damage probably has a good lawsuit against the dealership for almost killing him and his wife by allowing him to drive a car with bad brakes.

Why not just shoot everyone over the age of .... say 65 .... maybe 60. ;) They are pretty useless anyway and are just a burden on the health care system and on social security.

This problem is not restricted to the geezers :geezer:. We have had three incidents of cars running through the glass store fronts in shopping centers in the past couple of months because the driver hit the gas instead of the brake. Every driver was under the age of 40 .... so this ain't a geezer issue. No doubt you may have heard of such incidents in your own area. Maybe it is design, maybe its skill, and maybe it is competence. But it isn't exclusively an age thing. There are lots of people of ALL ages that should not be driving at all. These are the timid drivers, the nervous drivers, and the anxious drivers. The OLD guy in this incident probably was a Pizz Azz poor driver when he was 30 years old and should have has his license jerked back then.

BTW: Personally I don't think that the shootings should begin until age 70!
