Becky and I took Thursday and Friday off of work.....to work :D

Although challenging, the end result of our labor was more than we could have hoped for. I dont have a before shot, but imagine everything in the following pictures absolutely bare, with the exception of a few Hostas, the old bush in the center and dried out dark mulch.
Its amazing to have complete strangers stop their car in front of the house and compliment our work. :banana2:

All in all, about 70 shrubs, 10 yards of small stone, 1.5 yards of Cobbles, 50ish bags of Mushroom Compost Soil, about 400 feet of Landscape Fabric and a little sweat equity.
BTW, the neighbors have already hired us for their upcoming project. :burnout:

We had some left over rock, so we made this for our swing far out in the yard....

Absolutely beautiful. The woodchips/mulch color complements the house nicely! Isn't ripping up grass a PITA!! I'm glad you didn't have to dig up all those stones!!! Love the patio/fire pit! Never heard of mushroom compost. Around here we have lobster/shellfish compost.

Nice work Zack, really makes the front pop in the picture with the house in the background.

Very nice! Next step, landscape lighting. Do not use the solar powered lights, they are absolute crap. You can very easily run and bury low voltage to the hardscape. If you think people stopped to oggle during the day, wait until you get a mixture of hard uplighting and soft ground lighting. Just a thought.

Front looks sharp, love the fire pit layout. How many innocent Blue Moons died during the construction of these projects?

Those two dogs out in the street....they were trying to decide which shrubs to pee on, and which to dig out.

Nice job, kids, it really looks great. :trophy1:

Thanks for the compliment.

PS, I moved the invisible fence the week before so the front yard is off limits....permanently!
