I've been running a DB Electrical 200 Amp alternator for a couple of years. Last week it started acting up, battery indicator came on and the voltage gauge readings were strange. No intermedate voltages, only 14v or 12v. I got a replacement regulator from DB (I paid for it, the alternator was 2 years old) and installed it today. Fixed it! Part # F797, not sure if it can be purchased at the neighborhood automotive parts shops, but it may be a good spare part to have on hand. Easy to replace, three 8 mm(5/15") headed screws attach the cover, then three torx screws hold the regulator in place. New regulator has a wire pin holding the brushes in place, install the 3 screws and pull the pin. Put the cover back on and connect the cable. Beats having to replace a $200 alternator any day!
