I think it stinks. In the house I have cable so it made no difference. In the garage I use rabbit ears. The DTV signals are hard to tune in, they seem to either work or don't work. No "snowy" picture to tell you the antenna needs to be adjusted a bit to bring in a stronger signal.

Exactly, Brian. The "Digital Cliff." Ones and Zeros....it either works or it doesn't. You may need an external antenna.

You need an amplified antenna, plugs into wall outlet and tv.

Now for "the rest of the story". All the press and government announcements have said all you need is a stupid box. Now it takes a special antenna for UHF instead of the rabbit ears which are designed for VHF frequencies. Oh, and if you have weak signals it's gonna take an amplified antenna. And the performance is no better than it was before the switch.

Run cable out to the garage.

I second that.. a 2 way splitter and some rg6 and you're set.. if you're gonna use a digital (cable, not DTV) box with it use a splitter rated to at least 1000Mhz

Too many splitters already. Add cable to the garage and screw up the signal to all the sets in the house? No.
Anyway, it was an observation about the reduced functionality the garage... running cable out to the motor home isn't an option.
