After installing my 2nd set of HIDs I noticed one of my lights has some burn film on the inside of the reflector which is causing a slight miss in the hid light pattern.

Has anyone taken the headlights apart before?

I know you have to bake them in the oven at a low temp like around 125-150 but not sure for how long on ours and what to use to reseal the lights back up.

I know the stuff will wipe right off cause I could get 2-3 fingers in the hole (:P) with a tissue and it wiped clean off the reflector.

I have the same question about the inside of my fog light lens...can they be taken apart and cleaned?

The lights should come apart pretty easy. Mine came apart on there own and were getting moisture in them. But I did take them apart last summer when it was 100+ out here in LV. Use a hair dryer if the glue is too much. There are a couple tabs on top an botton holding the lens to the housing. Then seal up with silicone and glue tabs back down.

Use a gun cleaning kit/rods. :)

easier than that, take a small clean cotton cloth, wet it and soap it up and stick it into the headlight and shake it up until the lens is clean, then fish out the towel with a small wire or hook shaped item, then rinse out with hot water. Then re-seal the edges with silicone and reinstall once they are dry.

I think I will probably just buy another pair of lights so I won't have any down time with my factory ones. Plus I want to sand and polish the outer plastic because of all the nicks and chips that are on it.
