A Country Squire, from ANY year is and always will be a rust bucket...that and the Colony Park were engineering disasters. Ask me how I know...from new the power windows were an adventure going up and down.

There are virtually hundreds of other vehicles that are better suited for towing and driving. Even if someone is GIVING you a Country Squire that has low miles and was stored in a garage RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!

Perhaps you love wagons...OK, I can kinda understand this. The answer is a late 1990s General Motors product with a 350 engine! Depending on the tongue weight and total weight of the trailer, a SUV or a rear air bag suspension equipped Panther platform sedan would do the job.

Times are tough but to have a Country Squire that will get like ten miles to the gallon is just not worth it! This is one the cars that helped cement a reputation for boring and poor styled cars from America! The rear window and door (What was it a "magic 3-way tailgate?) is another debacle!.

For the mere fact that the car was completely TREATED TRASHED and MADE A FOOL OF in NATIONAL LAMPOON's VACATION...never ever get in one...your reputation is at stake!!!

I had an 89 Crown Vic Wagon. Used that thing like a truck. I still miss it!

Never had a single problem (even with power windows) in 4 years and 100K miles

If you buy a Country squire without a tow package, can you have the tow package fitted to it after the fact?

Is it hard to find a tow package or is this something they would have available after 20+ years?

Im subscribing, I plan on trading in the Marauder for one of these because I need something to tow my hot dog cart around. Thanks for starting this thread. :beer:

i've never owned a country squire or any wagon for that matter but i've always loved the box body vics/marquis and have had great experience with both

288000 kms - turned to a durby car. never could blow the damn thing up

What size spacers did you need for the Mustang wheels on the Vic?

night and day difference with the wheels on. this is how it looked with stockers when i bought it.

If you really want something that can tow, look into the '94-'96 Buick Roadmaster or Caprice wagons.

I have owned 4 of them and they are great workhorses! They don't look bad modded either ;)

Those Roadmasters are great for towing Airstreams. Several of the guys in the club have them.
