View Full Version : Help me decide!

Hi everybody!
I've been debating for the last 4 years about possibly buying another vehicle to potentially replace my Marauder...although I'm not quite sure yet.
Help me decide which of these cars would be best for me.
#1 Yugo
Small, sporty, killer paint job...you'll never lose it in the WalMart parking lot.
I've always liked 'Rally inspired' cars!
It does have a spotty reliability record....but when a bright yellow wheel comes off, it becomes it's own warning signal.
It also has a rear window defroster to help keep my friend's hands warm as they push the Yugo in cold weather.
#2 Toyota Corolla Wagon
Good fuel economy, they can be had with 4WD, lots of room for storing repair and replacement parts in the back.
They are not very powerful...but, Hey!....speed isn't everything.
Everybody knows that Toyotas are THE most reliable and well built cars.
I especially like the styling! The way that the window lines from the doors flow into the rear wagon area.
#3 Isuzu Vehicross
They come with a 'Torque on Demand' feature, which is a bit of a misnomer for a japanese car, but I still like it.
The Vehicross were ridiculously expensive when they were new, but you can buy good used examples for only @ $24,000!
You cannot deny the sexy styling on this choice! The chrome buckteeth accent is top notch. The 'Rodeo sunk in a plastic bucket' look is so avant garde!
Add in almost NO useful storage space and you have a winner...
I think...well...I'm not sure.
I'll post up on that thought later.

I've been a BIG fan of those Corolla Wagons for a long time.
Room for 12, places to hide your stash, and of course good fuel economy.
They'd be my suggestion!

Start a poll, or 3 or 4.
Ask the members at least twice a week what they/we think.
Take your time. A major decision like this should take 2-3 years.

BTW, you didnt stick to the format, you have to list a bunch of cars that you couldnt possibly afford but tell everyone you can so your internet persona looks cool but in real life your just a loser in a dark room with a keyboard and no life.. :shake:
Joe, you know MM.net needs this cause its in the lounge and all topics about the car have been exhausted and we need to be kind to fellow members and we look like childish adults if we complain and........etc :blah::blah::blah::blah: :puke:

Definitely choose the Toyota, its the only one the dead horse will fit in :D
Turdyota wagon for the win. Then, if you ever find yourself in a bored, drunken stupor, you can cut off the top and have the bitchinist dull red El Kimono on the block.

YUGO for sure. You have to look ahead. Suppose you are in a accident with a large truck and you cannot be identified with dental records. If you were in the Yugo that could be accomplished by checking the yellow wheels.

That Toyota wagon rocks, but I like the yugo wheels. Yugo parts might be hard to find though because you bombed the factory.
My Toyota was great in England while i was as school over there. It was a big bigger and different design from the red one but it being red makes up for many of it's down sides.
Wagons are also great as you can carry stuff and still reach the things you put on the roof rack, unlike a SUV or a mini van.
Plus you're not driving a SUV or Mini van.
Easier to park too.
Great points here people. Im taking notes!

Although the Yugo is an obvious front runner, my friend bought one when we were stationed in Maine years ago. He just got divorced and it was all he could afford. He drove a few of us to lunch across town and three us had to get out and push when we hit a steep hill in town. So, the moral of the story (there could be other things to learn from this, just saying) is always bring your friends to lunch.
On second thought, buy American! I hear Pontiac made a real sharp SUV called the Aztec.

Keep searching Joe. I know there is more American examples of hung over engineering to consider. You could go old school and consider the Edsel, early Corvairs or maybe even that chick magnet, the early 60's Nash Rambler. So many choices... Good Luck!

Keep searching Joe. I know there is more American examples of hung over engineering to consider. You could go old school and consider the Edsel, early Corvairs or maybe even that chick magnet, the early 60's Nash Rambler. So many choices... Good Luck!
I have more thoughts on the matter but I need to raise my count so stay tuned.
Yup, I quoted myself, shameless I know:D Who said it didn't have to be entertaining.
So back to the thoughtful insight: Once you decide your comparison, one of your metrics could be, where there books written or movies made that extolled the virtues of the vehicle your considering? Wait, that's two metrics. Another could be, where there any law suits against the manufacturer regarding safety concerns where people lost their lives directly related to the design? More importantly, could you get laid simply by driving it.
Maybe you should start a thread to help define the metrics:rolleyes:

I looked this car up in my car dictionary, it's pronounced "Sh!# Vette". But your right, the reliability numbers were awesome until it rolled off the factory line. Kinda took a nose dive after that...

I must research Books, Safety, Lawsuits, Getting Laid .....well maybe just the first 3!
A new thread to further expound on this slow and difficult decision making process.
BTW: Does it have to be 'Metrics'..???
I never really learned that and I prefer the 'Englishs' method......:P

I always assumed it's because I need two. One to hang off each nipple. But that's my business, and I thank you kindly to stay the hell out of it. Good day, sir.

Ouch!
I always thought that Vice-Grips worked best as a replacement shifter handle when you break your shifter off and are left with a 5 speed stub.
Now....Back to my impending, probably gonna happen, thinking about it, don't want to rush, maybe, sorta, kinda, need to mull it over car purchase decision.

The reason I like it so much is because:
I don't have to worry about getting into an accident and repairing it....
It already looks like it has been in a wreck!
I don't have to worry about security and locking it....
Who would want to steal it?....just look at it!
I don't have to worry about giving people a ride in it...
No one would want to......and check out all the rear headroom and storage capacity!
It's name sounds eerily similar to my initial reaction upon first viewing it...PUKE!...:puke:
Looks like a Baleen whale humped a Nissan Murano.
Transformers, more than fails the eye!
It comes with the 'Pride Delete' option.

Joe, when in the market for an automobile, there are a pluthera of things to consider. For example, gas mileage, comfort, handling, and for those living in an area that is condusive to snow, response and traction are a big part of it. Might I suggest the auto below.
23079
With 6 tires traction will hopefully be improved. The question is does it offset the additional expense of replace those tires
