Thinking of getting a Ford Flex as my family vehiche since Ford no longer makes the Windstar or the Monterey.
I plan to wait for the 2010 model year hoping that the EcoBoost option will be available (355 hp).
My question is,
has anybody got one as a familty vehicle or driven one as a rental.
Just like to get your impresstion of the vehicle in advance.
Thanks.:)

The Flex styling is beginning to appeal to me. The interior is very spacious and comfortably seats 7. I liked the interior alot. Have not taken one for a test ride but it seems like it would be a great vehicle for vacations or a road trip especially if you have several people and all of their gear. Has a 5 star safety rating.
A fully loaded Flex Limited with the Vista Roof, AWD, 6cd changer, DVD system, towing package and more is listed for $42,230. If that is a bit pricey for you, the base price is about $28,500 so you can find one to fit your taste somewhere in between.
I read a road trip article on the Flex where a guy and his buddy took 4 kids from Chicago to New York City and back and they raved about the vehicle.
If you are looking for space, seating for a bunch and versatility ..... I'd say go for it.

Fantastic vehicle, Very quiet and smooth riding.
Tons of room.
The only Town Car I've been in that had more leg room (first two rows)than the Ford Flex , was a strech limo.

I test drove one with the kids a few months back and loved it...I too am waiting for the eco boost model....the one I drove was a base model but still very comfortable and roomy....and even that one had plenty of power. Looks good to IMHO...
