View Full Version : Someone tried to buy my car...
...this morning at a red light. I hear "Excuse me sir." So I look to my left, a guy in a Ford Ranger says "Would you consider selling your car?" I said "Nope, there's other Marauders for sale, check online." He said "I've been looking, can't find a blue one." I said "Well, they're out there, good luck." Light turned green, we rolled on. I goosed it a little for his benefit.
Saturday night I was beside a guy at a light, he was in a new Challenger, orange with flat black hood, numbers of some sort stuck to it, his tag had NT VENOM on it. He asked what my car was 1 of 327 of, so I told him, he said cool, it looks great, he asked what size engine, told him 281. He said "Like the Cobras?" Uhhhh....yeah I said. He said Yeah I had a Cobra Mustang, traded it in for this. I said Is that what your tag means, Anti Venom? He said Yeah. By now the light is green and we are rolling side by side about 15-20 miles an hour. And then he floored it, I knew he was going to, and of course so did I. Big ol' Marauder instantly drowned him out and I dogged him bad enough to get in front of him and take his lane, muhahahahaa. You all know what he did about 15 seconds later, :burnout:fly-by. I just waved, didn't even look over. I don't post every compliment the car gets, but these two were pretty cool.

No, people in cars doing stupid things kill. Flooring it on a open and clear straight away does not constitute street racing. Running your ricer at 110mph with your lights off down a major highway at 0300 along side an equally stupid person, is street racing.

We were on the sidewalk. Want to buy a slightly dented stroller?

A guy tried to buy my car a couple of weeks ago... Pulled up in front of my house in an LX Sport I had seen in the neighborhood a couple of times and asked if I wanted to sell and I said never and he said "never huh?" I said yeah... he said I understand completely!

I know, right? A few minutes later, I thought to myself "Damn, I said no without any hesitation whatsoever", so I guess I really like my car. But, everything has a price.

Here's one better Bob.
Here in Toronto, the ricers like to do that on city streets! Think of it: intersections; people; kids; pets and animals....
That's what kills....STUPIDITY!

My general response to people who ask if I'll sell them mine is that they'd have to make me independently wealthy before I'd even consider it.
To me, it's not just a case of having a rare care, it's MY rare car, with a soul of its own that makes it special to me. To me, it'd almost be like trying to sell a family member (that you actually love...).

Just give me what I owe on it and they can take it away! I owe more than it is worth!

I'd sell my MM for enough to cover my next ride; 2007 or newer mint Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT, blue of course. $60K might cover it :)

I would sell mine for 35K. Purchase price: 20K. Mods cost: umpteen K. Currently the 17th fastest Marauder on record. Mods list upon request, give me a day or two to complete the list.:D All reasonable offers over 32.5K will be entertained.

I have to keep the outside sharp, since I can't compete with you superduper charged folks once the hood gets popped. Also recently I've had 2 seperate carloads of teeny boppers honk and wave, one was even revving me at a light and nudging forward to get my attention. I looked over and saw 4 gals and litterally said "What the fu...!!" and they all started giggling. I turned my ball cap around and leaned forward like "It's go time!" Then, I let them take off at the light and win, they probably posted the kill on some 4 door Tercel fansite. Schools out, new teen drivers, everyone be careful!
