It depends on the year. Low miles really should be qualified by xx miles/year, what that # would be I don't know.

My 03 has 39k on it and I think that would still be "low mileage" compared to a normal daily-driven car.

A 1990 car with 80k on it would be "low mileage" for the year too, I would think.

:shake: All miles have the potential to be "High" miles.
Just don't drive while doing them.

Are low miles age dependant or is a vehicle considered low miles if it has a certain number.

I see this all the time, Low Miles

yet the car has 80,000 miles on it.

or

40,000 miles on it.

I know of a few cars that have lots of miles and are considered low. The Subaru SVX for instance is considered low if it has less than a 100,000 miles. One with 50,000 or less is a rare find.

Yet some cars have 25,000 miles and are considered high miles.

So what does low miles mean?

Every time I see one of your posts, I'm convinced Karen Allen is going to have to drive you from Wisconsin to Meteor Crater, Arizona.

But to answer your question, someone putting low miles in an ad could be with respect to how many miles the motor is expected to run, or it could be complete BS on the part of the person posting the ad. To me, anything with less than a year of normal driving (~15k miles/25k km) is low miles. Age of the vehicle, rarity of the vehicle, and known durability of the motor can all contribute to the "low miles" moniker. A Camry with 45k miles might still be low, but a Buick GNX with 40k miles isn't really low anymore. It's all subjective. Examine the vehicle and it's recorded history to understand it.

So my 25K miles DTR is low miles?

I've always thought that the measurement of when insurance classifies the vehicle as 'occasional' or 'pleasure', 7000 miles or 15,000 km per year - X the age of the vehicle; that is low mileage.

50K Km on a 5 year old vehicle is low miles in my book.

In the US Most Auto Dealerships considers 12000-15000 miles a year average mileage . Low mileage depending on who you speak too in most case's is anything below 8-10000 miles a year.

Low miles means the closer the ODO is to zero the lower the miles it has. :)

Remember that you can't take your car with you. Enjoy it now while you still can, life is short and will be over before you know it.

Sucks if you die and you only put 10,000 on your fav car Eh?

This is where I stand . The guy who had my car with 19k miles did not fully enjoy it. I am intent on running the odometer up before I die whenever that may be.

Gonna throw this out there, consider where the vehicle is being sold as to what's considered low mileage. A long-distance or short-distance commute to someone here in Texas for example may be something different to someone in a smaller state.
