As I browsed the net this morning, I came across this:

Looks like the new Chrysler 300's are borrowing from the MM's winning formula. Long hood, short rear deck, rwd, even bigger
V-8 (5.7L to our 4.6, and the Hemi to boot), AND the design's supposed to be capable of accepting an AWD drivetrain. Interesting.

I was a Mopar guy at one point...although Mopars built after 1973-74 really aren't that great. Smogger engines, lousy build quality, etc., although the 1979 Chrysler Hurst 300s and the Lil Red P'ups were okay. Almost bought a Hurst 300 'bout 4 years ago. My all time favorite car is still the 1968-70 and '71 model year Charger. (I know...they changed the bodystyle in '71, but that's the year I was born, so there.) But my last Mopar, a 1985 Charger (think K-car with a 2dr hatchback body) failed me at a bad time. No more Mopars, and I 've been a steady FMC ever since...especially because it was a Mustang LX 5.0 that picked up the slack the night the Charger died....

Just bringin' y'all the news.

With a 5.7 engine it looks like that car will move. Rear wheel drive is a plus.

RWD anytime anywhere is a plus, I'm disapointed GM has so many FWD cars now...

I just can't get into that styling...

Reading the post, I was kind of hoping I'd see a low wide front end...

RWD, V8, large sedan... all good things, but I gotta be able to look at it and not have to stifle a burp.
(hey, it's just my opinion and nothing but... no offense meant to anyone who likes this car)

I would agree, TTA...that solid-slab styling just doesn't seem to work. Wheels are too big. Still looks too much like the concept car, meaning that a lot of the interior gizmos (like the electronics) are gonna be a real headache. Say what you like about the MM's electronics, but they do work.

Albeit maybe not to the satisfaction of some, but I'm happy...

And what happened to keeping the letters in sequence? There's already been a Chrysler 300C...and it was probably the best of Mopar's "letter cars"...

Chrysler has always been a bit "out there" style wise. compare the 300 series in the early years with tthe equivlents of Furd and cheby. Just out there man.

Yeah, what everyone else said . . . that's THE ugliest car I've ever seen. TAF!!!!!! You're right! It DOES look like a Matador!

Even if you think that Chrysler is ugly, you don't know what competition it will have in '05. It might look good compared to what else will be out there. Unfortunately, one thing we do know is that there will NOT be a MM in '05.:cry:

I can't get into the styling of it at all.
I'm also not really impressed with the "new" Hemi, which isn't a true Hemi, is still cam-in-block OHV, and from some of the reports, has had it's share of troubles in the trucks.
The car is also just another "unibody"..........

Style wise its not too far off a Caddy!

Not a bad design. Front is bold to say the least!

People think the Marauder is ugly looking, too much black :shake:

I dunno how the 300C is gonna go over. I haven't seen one in person yet, just pictures. I'll reserve total judgement until then.

I heard it will be rear wheel drive?Mopar's answer to a Marauder?Oh yeah bye that time the Grand Marquise/Crown Vic will be smaller and not even competative to the 300.
It will be interesting to see if the public accepts the GTO and 300. And how said companies will promote these cars?

The Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis is scheduled for a body restyle for 2006, but i don't think it will be smaller.
Lets hope they follow through with a Marauder for 2007

I hope they don't downsize the CV and GM. Ford is the only company out there still making full size RWD cars. That's the main reason I am now in my MM as opposed to a General Motors car like I have always driven.
