View Full Version : Thinking about ordering a Porter Cable 7424
I have a ton of swirl marks and light to medium scratches all over the car. It's a DD and rarely sees the garage, so I'm not trying to turn it into a show car. However, I would like to take a weekend and work on the paint.
Aside from the PC itself what else do you guys use as far as pads and polishes go?
But still have not gotten around to ordering one. Money is a little tight right now.:(

I ordered this kit. It includes the meguires branded version of the 7424 and multiple pads polishes and other items. I'm happy with it so far.

Go to Griot's Garage.com and check out the Orbital they sell. I have one, and it works for me.

The Porter Cable is one of the best tools I've ever purchased for my cars. I use it and these two Meguiar's products and never have any trouble with swirl marks:

NXT 2.0 Wax: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+G12718
Results speak for themselves:

Started out with a Porter Cable then purchased a FLEX. More power with the orbit and forced rotation. The 5.5 pads work the best with the PC. Try Optimum Polish II, easy to work and fairly cheap. Autogeek is a good online retailer. Happy polishing!!
