I had the pleasure of meeting Mark (merc) in person last night and I installed two 295's on his widened wheels at my house (with his help! they barely barely fit my machine). I got to test ride in his car with the new tires on! Holy crap that is a fast car (11.6 1/4 mile I think he said). The back roads near my house also *may* have been repaved with some 12" wide stripes. I think I will go take some pics of the road later tonight LOL. That car is INTENSE

Ha he got to see me turn bright red when he first pulled in and it dawned on me just how wide those wheels are and whether they were going to fit on my machine. Those things are like steam roller drums.

I have never been excited about a tire change until now. The NT555 (Street tire) was a good performer at the beginning, but faded quickly as rear wheel torque increased. Steve did an excellent job of mounting and balancing the new tires. One of the best hands in the business. The 295 wheels were a challenge for Steve's equipment, but he was up to the task. After a couple of hours we were on the road again with much improved grip. If you have widen wheels take a good look at the new NT05 series tire. It's not a drag radial, but it adds a little more grip then the older 555's.

LOL I wouldn't say I am "in the business", I am an insanely anal retentive hobbyist with some tools, but thanks just the same

Is there a matching tire that fits the front?

Yeah no way, the 295 was the absolute limit, the sidewall was hitting the arm on my machine and it took most of the strength I had to get the first bead on with it hitting like that.

Please give us detailed feedback on these tires. My 555's on widened rims are running out of life and will need replacement this fall. The 555's are marginal for traction when I get into the boost. What are the 05's like in daily driving? Can they handle Florida rain? Thanks.
