Simple, just pull the little metal tab back and pop off the "ball in socket" I just replaced mine and took me a total of 1 minute for both sides.

you will see a band around the end on the socket. there is a slot where you pry the band outward and will be able to slip the end off the ball socket. repete on other end. the new all you need to do is apply pressure to re-clip onto ball socket. remember when you un-clip you will have to support hood to make sure it doesn't fall down.
