35% *Looks darker due to showroom windows in the background being tinted -and- it was a very overcast day.

Where did you get the hood?
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2206000-2206999/2206612_94_full.jpg
3" fiberglass cowl scoop for a 1987+ Mustang from eBayŽ was grafted to a spare hood.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2206000-2206999/2206612_95_full.jpg
Gutter guard material was used to fabricate a grate for the mouth of the scoop.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2206000-2206999/2206612_96_full.jpg
The circled areas are what is cut-out of the outer skin ( top of hood ). Did not want to compromise the integrity / rigidity of the hood. *It is a daily driver.

The original pic's were 1600x1200 and were cropped and resized to a common height of 574 ( the width was kept proportional to the resizing of the height ).

Other than that, there wasn't any enhancing done.

Try to what ?

Have been mod'ing it since new in Dec'2002 with a particular look in mind.

This ... "still a Crown Victoria" has a lower production total than MOST of the Grand Marquis Marauders - only 2945 LX Sports were produced in 2003.

The only MAJOR component variant between the Grand Marquis Marauder and the Crown Victoria LX Sport is the engine.

You've haven't been around very long, have ya ? :D

thats like takin a caprice and "tryin" to make it an impala.. underneath all the BS its still a caprice
since the LX sport is more "rare" or "limited" than the Marauder y would u try and change the apperance to resemble our cars?
I just dont dig the "clone" thing

As always, Joe, great looking car.

I have a question I bet you don't get asked very often: what mud flaps are you running on there? They look like they fit quite nicely and I would actually like a set for the CVPI as that car kicks up a lot on the rockers and lower 1/4/rear bumper.

The molded splash guards are FoMoCo .....

Rim shop told me it would b too difficult for 24's. 22's with the right series tire will do fine tho. im in the process of finding some rims that i like right now (i didnt know u were concerned)
i was also thinking of painting my **** two tone dtr red on top and sb on bottom, i bet that would really pucker up yo bootyhole.
i have some plans for this mutha****a tho believe me. as soon as i get the wheels rollin u will b the first one i let know buddy.
if i send u a friend request will u accept it?

and to answer your question no im not too poor, just dont feel like going through all that extra bs when duece's fit fine with no mods (duece's = 22in rims)

Dud ( er, dude ), better get your history straight.

The Marauder was born out of the ... Crown Victoria Black Hawk ( circa 1999 )
.
http://www.iceposter.com/thumbs/A22897_b.jpg

http://www.iceposter.com/thumbs/A22898_b.jpg

http://www.iceposter.com/thumbs/A22899_b.jpg
.

Roush Cobra Vic ( saw a proto-type at the (then) Charlotte Motor Speedway )
.
http://photos.ebizautos.com/used-1999-ford-crown_victoria-cobramotor-5383-1908822-10-640.jpg

http://photos.ebizautos.com/used-1999-ford-crown_victoria-cobramotor-5383-1908822-11-640.jpgAnd so using your logic ... Underneath all the BS the Marauder is still a Crown Victoria.

since the LX sport is more "rare" or "limited" than the Marauder y would u try and change the apperance to resemble our cars?
Given that the LX Sport pre-dates the 2003 Marauder by 2 years, there was no change to resemble "our cars".

I just dont dig the "clone" thing
Never was a "clone thing".

its my preference
but i guess im "bashing" u... or something like that. but eh........ F what i think
When it's ignorance ... Yes, it's bashing.

http://www.geocities.com/gdmjoe/Lifeistough.jpg

would i b ridiculed if i swap my rims for the LX rims and tried to make mine look like a vic?
Several do as a winter package. And like it or not, yours already looks like a "vic".

What paticular look did u have in mind?.... what drew ur insperation
Crown Victoria Black Hawk and the Roush Cobra Vic.

Now ...

"Go away, boy, ya bother me!"

GDMJoe, Looks great, as always! What I'd like to know is how you keep it so clean since it is a daily driven car. Lately, I'm getting a new "mark" about once a week. Door dings, paint chips, scratches, etc. I even park away from people to avoid these issues.

Mac-MerC---Look over his pictures again. All you see throughout is Ford and Crown Victoria logos. It's obvious that he is making his car unique and NOT a clone. He never stated anywhere that a clone is his goal. Before you jump all over me and my modified Grand Marquis, I too am NOT trying to make a clone. We are just using some of the best parts available, some of which happen to be Marauder parts. I was also heavily influenced by the Bondurant Cobra Crown Vic cars.

Joe has also been a great resource of info, just look at the posts in this thread. He has part numbers that he freely shares. He could simply be a jerk and say "do your own research", but that's not Joe.

I joined this car forum because it has members who respect each other, regardless of how a car is modded. Lighten up a bit about the Marauder ownership, it is not a requirement for being on this forum. Some people on this forum have moved on to different cars for different reasons. They still post here because of the great friendships that have formed over the years. We are car nuts who may rib each other occasionally, but remain courteous.

You might want to take note that the Marauder is from the Ford "Panther" line of cars, which would explain why you also see people with CV & GM here.

You should come to some events and meet some members here. You will quickly see that this is more about people interacting. The Marauder happens to be what brought us together.

Tom - Thank You! for the compliment and kind words.

Regarding door dings, paint chips, scratches, etc. .... You're not parking far enough away. And ... You notice that all the pic's are taken at a distance. :D

But actually I've been fairly fortunate. The windshield seems to take most of the hits.

Regarding being a jerk ..... You do recall that gDMJoe ( god Damn Mean Joe ) was a term of endearment that co-workers bestowed upon me in the late '70's. And somehow it stuck ( and they were, and still are, right ).

All the diplomacy and tact of a PO'ed rhino at your front door.

'cause I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it people like me.

BTW ... Got the belated trader comment, and your purchase was in 2004.

ts-pa
07-09-2009, 11:42 PM
Wow, 2004, I didn't realize that it was that long ago that I bought the wheels from you.

My daughter commented, "Dad, why does the front window sometimes sparkle like diamonds?". Sounds cute from a kid, but in fact it is from hundreds of stone chips.

Some of the places that I park at are so remote, I worry that my car might be gone when I go back for it. Of course, some of the worst beaters imaginable always seem to park right next to my car! I mean literally close enough to ensure door dings.

One day, I come home to find people hanging out in front of my car, with two of them half standing and sitting on the front end. My car was not on the street, but in my driveway!:mad2:

I guess this might be required...
