I fricking hate that place....

not so much what they have for sale, just the trashball people who go there and even more so, the dirt-bags that work there.

Its like a state fair, the wierdist, uglyiest, stupidist people ever.

Its always a LAST resort for me to go into that place.

Not my favorite place, but still go there for reasonably priced stuff.

+1 on the staff, has really gone down the tubes since Sam passed on.

i dont understand why they have like 50 cash registers and they only have like 7 open
a 10 minute trip can take 45 cuz u have to stand in like 30 minutes to get checked out

It's all about the almighty dollar! I will only stop as a last resort. I'd rather not spend my American money on their third world or sweatshop crap! :puke:

I never shopped there untill the start of last year when they finally gave our plumbing local the first ever new store construction, From what i've heard it was also the first one in the country to go up consisting of mostly union trades. Just looking out for my career is all, where I live there is a gazillion of other places to shop, and even good ole Walmart can't compete with online sales. Now that they pushed us some work, I try and push them some sales. It's a trade off.

no doubt, this is more like the Target here...AT LEAST 50 cash registers...maybe 4-5 open

Even on Black Sunday they only had 20 or so up and running.

I understand frustration, but I never go to a store to shop. Just get what I need and leave.

I think your generalizations about Wal-Mart are pretty narrow minded.

I can honestly say it's the BEST company I've ever worked for.

I hear they are the worst employer around.

I was walking through the clothing section to get to the paper plates for our camping this weekend.
There was this thing.... think a female, about 6ft+, 220 LBS, greasy brown hair, and she was chewing on her tounge. I continued on my path which was unfortunatly walking towards HER. She just kept looking my direction while continuing the chew on her tounge like a dog would chew on its favorite toy. She looked tarted (not literally) but, I think it gives you an idea.

Totally distusting!!

Ah, so you heard it, therefor it must be true?

I worked there for a few months. They've got unbelievable benefits, pay was reasonable, employee discount, and they way they treated us as employees was above and beyond any other retailer i've ever worked for. Cookouts, buying us dinner, donuts, etc. Parties to celebrate promotions, thank you cards when we did beyond expectations, and bonuses. When you're on top, everyone wants to bring you down. It was much harder to admit I worked there than to actually work there.

At one point 99% of the employees on the shift I worked had issues with a single manager. What did Wal-Mart do? The flew in a higher-up from their corporate office to actually SIT and TALK with the employees that had problems....eventually the manager was moved to another shift. Talk about employee satisfaction?

And about this "Stereotypical" wal-mart employee...how many corporations do you know that hire special needs and handicapped people? I think it's great that people with special needs have a place they can get out and work.

And what was it in the news last year? Wal-mart firing employees trying to start unions, and not being payed for overtime.

I dont know when it was that you worked there, But for the last 5 yrs they have been the door to hell

Avoid it like the plague, around here going into Wal-Mart or K Mart is like going to a 3rd world country, all the stuff is on the floor, staff is off doing there own thing, wont help you don't know where anything is, the only helpful person is the greeter. Though on the rare occasion that I do find myself in "Baghdad" I realize I am a good foot taller then everyone else and way over dressed.

I shop there for some things. I prefer locally owned grocery stores and Ace Hardware when possible. Gotta admit though, you buy something there and decide to take it back a few months later, no problem. Try that with Best Buy. And car batteries? 3 year full replacement, no questions asked. Try that with Advance. They want to hookup and test it, make you wait 30 minutes to an hour.

I'm saddened you characterized me as a trashball and dirt-bag. I try and greet the shoppers in a cordial manner and verbally express hope that their Wal-Mart shopping experience is satisfactory and that the products meet their expectations.

I know that "my" Wal-Mart is clean, well stocked and the employee's are busy attending to customers, stocking shelves and keeping the premises clean. The shopping carts are never allowed to accumulate in the parking lot.

Wake up Pat. PAT WAKE UP, YOUR DREAMING AGAIN.

One good thing about Walmart is, that's where the slobs will be, if you don't want to be around them, then stay away. When I go I just try to make fun of everyone, to myself, sort of like a game. Its better to leave laughing, then crying.

Who ever is in charge of their pet department ought to be shot.

1. Conditions. Aquarium lights are left on 24/7. Fish don't have eyelids and need some rest just like any other animal. This leads to stress and premature death due to decreased disease immunity.

2. Stocking. All their tanks are way over stocked. Another source of stress/death. They generally have Pacu for sale as well. These have such an explosive growth rate that they can easily outgrow a 75g tank in under a year. The biggest tank they sell is a 55g. Reputable pet stores stopped selling these fish years ago.

3. Overall knowledge. Terrible! They'll gladly sell you a dozen goldfish and a heater for a 10 gallon tank. FYI Goldfish are cool water fish and will out grow anything short of a 200 gallon tank. You wouldn't try to raise a German Shepard in a broom closet, would you?

I haven't even scratched the surface on everything these people do wrong. These are all legitimate complaints that no one can call me out on.

As everyone already knows, there is also no better place to get door dinged by an '85 Toyota Tercel that's being held together by Hillary '08 bumper stickers than Wal-Mart.

Wal Mart is a great place to go in the dead middle of the night (if your local one is 24-hr). NO ONE shows, it's fantastic. The problem arises when there is that ONE person who has to buy everything in the store and gets in line at the ONE open register before you do. Some woman decided she needed to buy a whole set of glass dinner plates and cups at 2:30 in the morning, never understood that.

Why is it Wal-Marts fault that Americans are increasingly Gross?
Perhaps some form of shoppers discrimination is in order. Say the greeter could be a bouncer. Anyone with disabilities, pregnant, short, poor, or ugly should be sent packing. In addition lets be sure that all the employees are college graduates, experts in the field or dept. they represent. Pay should start at....80 grand with full benefits.
all the low life would be forced to shop better places. Oh wait...you shop those.

I agree, I worked at the wal-mart in laurel, md and the one in landover hills, md.

Employee discount was garbage a measily 10% off. Which really doesn't count bcuz after you add taxes, it's back to the original price. Cookouts were good, every other week we had one. Donuts every other day! I hated the store manager as he cussed out a cashier in front of a bunch of customers and called him a stupid muthaf*$^%&.

The first day they opened the one in Landover Hills, 3 50in plasmas were stolen by employees....never to be found again..LOL.

Sounds like you're proud of the fact you were stealing from them. One problem these days is there are no repercussions for this kind of crap, it drives up the costs for all of us. Put that on your resume and see how it looks to a prospective employer... Even the HR dept can't disclose the fact that someone was fired for stealing when a prospective employer calls for references.

I know a guy who had a ragged out SVO Mustang that burned a ton of oil.
He would purposely go to Jiffy Lube for oil changes only because they would 'top off' your crankcase between oil changes for free.

Wal-Mark is the greatest retailer the world has ever seen (fact)!

I regularly shop at 4 of their stores in my metro area. Each store, and their customers, are all a little different. When you give the people what they want, the world will beat a path to your door.
Blaming/hating them for selling foreign made goods is like blaming & hating Ford for making cars or trucks in Mexico, Argentina, Germany, England, or Brazil.

If you want customer service and high prices go to Macy's. Wal-mart has publicly stated they are into low prices not making the customer feel warm and fuzzy. You'll should be glad they hire the "less" fortunate as this keeps them off the unemployment "dole". The place ain't fancy and it doesn't advertise that it is, so shop it for what it is and get off your ethnocentric high horses.
