Well, I picked up the new Marauder last night from the dealer. Overall it is a very nice car. What a chore it will be to keep it clean. Here are my initial thoughts:

Needs more power! I was hoping it would be a little snappier than it is. Initially it is difficult to modulate the throttle smoothly without being real jerky. Why can't I chirp the tires or produce smoke like in the posters?

Ride is kind of choppy and unbalanced front to rear on-highway, especially here in Michigan on our prime roads. Smooth roads are really never smooth where you feel every bump and expansion joint in the pavement.

Sound system is OK, but expected it to have a little more Bass punch.

Steering and Handling is very good.

Like the steering wheel controls and the automatic climate control.

Guage lighting is a little inconsistant, especially on the autometer guages.

I'll be curious to hear from this forum what mods help the car. I look forward to future reports on the rear gears and the chips available to determine if this will wake up the beast.

Logan, thanks for the site. Look forward to all the useful info and chats with my fellow members.

hey congratz Elim,

The ride is more sensitive, thats the price of that awesome performance suspension.

I think that alot of people are going to put in chips from Dennis and new gears as very early mods. These two things should solve most mortal's beefs with the car.

As for bass output......I think I will soon be deaf from the thunderous boom of my Marauder's subwoofer. I'd need a serious system to make that thing thump bass any harder.

Re:Eliminator

Congrats and best wishes!

As for the lights...it's like christmas
Main Dash - green
Marauder lettering (main dash) - red
Gauges on console - blue

I think it would be cool if they used blue for the main dash cluster.

I'd agree with tetsu, I think the ride is great for what the car is suppose to be and I live here in Michigan also. I'm impressed with the sound system, that bass will knock your socks off given the right situation, maybe now I can get even with some of the "thumpers" at the traffic lights. I think we all agree that a little more off the line power would be great, so I like many others will be changing gears soon, probably to the 4.10, still debating that one. A chip is also on my list as soon as the gear is done, just looking for some one reliable here in the west side suburbs to put the gear in.

Congrats on your new purchase Eliminator, you won't be disappointed in the long run

Congrats! i think the car will really grow on you, especially if you get a chip and gears as others have said. I'm sure that'll liven things up nicely.

I, too, thought the bass response on the sound system was a little underwhelming, but I haven't spent much time adjusting the settings yet.

If I crank the bass up too much I get "pop" out of the subwoofer that I don't like at all. I'm still trying to find a happy medium. It's not bad for a factory system, but nothing that really knocked my socks off.

MarauderMike,

I think that Precision Gear/Reider Racing in Taylor is probably a good choice for a gear change. I don't have experience with them doing installs but I would think they should be a good place seeing as how they have a sticker on every NASCAR and racing car fender. A call to them may offer a closer shop to you thru their experience also.

Thanks for the comments. I'm sure it will be a few days to get used to the car.

Thanks for the tip Eliminator, I found a place today here in Livonia, Pandes Performance, just around the corner from work thank goodness. Just have to convince myself of the 4.10!!!

would be a wise choice changing gears.
