In the surrounding area of Cook County, in Alsap Illinois, families mine included are trying to find love ones. The Burr Oak Cemetary employees have UNGRAVED 250 bodies from their resting spot of years/decades and put them in a MASS GRAVE. Yes you heard correct, now family members are trying to ID bodies that have been buried for decades. The employees were taking bodies out of caskets and the plots and reselling them. This was only uncovered when one employee came forth with this information. I have my mother, uncles, cousins and my Grand mom there. My wife has family buried there also. Now everybody has to wait 6 months or more to get permits to REBURY love ones. With things going on in the world I never thought it would EVER hit this close to home. I went out today to the site and I could not take it. I have to get myself together and do this for weeks to come. The suspects could face up to 30 years IF CONVICTED.

Thank you ALL for being so gracious and warm. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! My 2 older brothers will let me and baby brother handle this , they live in Cali. The wife has to see about her Grandmother there. I'll let my LEO & District Chiefs (Fire Dept) cousins flash their badges to help let everybody in the family know whats happening. Right now we're just putting a list together to figure out who's who and where. Grave sites is not a place I wanted to be at. The people there crying, it's just bad.

I too heard it on the news this morning and could not believe it! Leon my grandmother lives right in the area and we are stunned. Their are bad people in this world but these people have sunk to another level. They are outright Bastards!

I agree ^^^^. The count is now up to 300 and some of the details are sickening. These four people should never see the light of day again. Pure evil for the sake of financial gain. It never ceases to amaze me of what some morally deficient miscreants will do for $. I am confident that they will be convicted .... there is not a book big enough that the judge can throw at them. Unfortunately, that will be of little comfort to the victims' families. :cry:

WOW...I hope that your folks were not in this mess. The sad part is that this happened to my ex girlfriend's grandmother's grave/ cemetary. That a horrible thing to do. I go visit my dad often and he suppose to have a headstone...but there is not one and the plots are on top of each other. I think I am sad now...:(

I've been keeping a close eye on this from both the Sun-Times & the news. I used to live only about 5 min. from Burr Oak and my heart goes out to you and your family as well as all of the unfortunate families effected by this. 30 years will never be enough for what these "animals" did to all of the effected families :mad2:

When my folks died (five years apart), I drove up to northern New Hampshire and spread their ashes on a mountaintop.

I figured that once I'm gone, there's nobody left to visit any grave site locally here in NJ, so I just felt that they would be happier spending eternity in a place they loved to visit instead of a piece of ground that they could care less about.

That means that I don't get to visit their final resting place, but I think it's more important to have them in my mind, anyway.

I read about this horror on line just yesterday and it broke my heart to hear how frantic families were in shock as they tried to find their missing loved ones. My heart goes out to you. May you take some comfort in what Mary said.....that their souls are safe from harm and they are always with you, carried safely in your heart.

I heard about this on WID 610 talk radio. Yup, there are some screwed up things going on this world. I mean money and space are tight but digging up graves to make rooms from new ones, thats low.
