I was bored between 4 and 8 P.M., so I went to the Virginia War Museum, Yorktown Battlefield and a car show.
Cool, sign says there's a classic car showOHMYGAWDWTFISTHAT?! It's Atomic Annie, 1 of 8 surviving atomic cannons. Now that is a boom stick.

Hmmm...wonder if I could park in that empty slot...

Never mind the forward flipping hood and the backwards pointing air filter, check out that damn upside down oil filter on top of the engine!! If you can guess what kind of supercharged car this is, you really know your vehicles.

My first guess is that's a McCullough on a '55-'57 Thunderbird. The single circuit brakes tells me it's deffinately old school.

The shielded distributor and wires leads me to believe the car might have a fiberglass body. Since it's not a Vette, (wrong valve covers) I'll have to guess it's probably a Thunderbird with a radio.

Studebaker you say? Yes, there was a pickup truck there.

It is a Paxton, the body is fiberglass, and it is a Studebaker so all of you were technically correct. It is an Avanti, with a factory supercharged 289.

Faster than a speeding ticket, more powerful than a parked locomotive, able to leap speed bumps and reamin on the ground, it's...it's...SepiaMarauder!

Darn, and I thought it was an R2. lol
A lady friend of mine is the original owner of an R1 Avanti,I've known her for over 25 years and have never seen under the hood in her car, she's usually too busy driving the wheels off it.

Thanks for the pics. I don't see too many Avantis here but have seen two recently at car shows. Unique autos.
