View Full Version : What's the best Cruising Music?

Alright this is for music to drive slow to or cruise.

Not something we need when we are road racing against a ZR1 Vette.

I just bought a ton of Doo Wop CDs that I used to own a few years ago and let me tell you, listening to Doo Wop in My Marauder really sets me in. I actually drive slower and quit caring about everything.

If you don't know what Doo Wop music is here's a few samples...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jznZQXaSYPo

^^^^^^I saw these guys (or what's left of them) a few months ago, I nearly cried. Yes I have that song on a 45 single and 33 with other goodies.

^^^^^One of my favorites.

^^^^^^^^This one I would blast in my Marauder driving by the college campus my freshmen year. I would get odd looks since I didn't have top 20 on. This song still does it. Yes I have it on a 45, but it's a bit warped. :( One cool thing about this song was I showed it to Dez from Black Flag when he was in my car and asked him if he knew this song, his answer. "Me and every cholo in L.A. knows it Dom."

What do you cruise to?

Lately...

A ton of Thin Lizzy ("Freedom Song")...some AC/DC ("Soul Stripper", stuff like that)...Raspberries (power pop band from Cleveland!).

One of my favorites, the sound quality is not really good in this version but the rest they had seemed like they were sped up.

Rap is great for cruising through the city... especially in our kind of cars! Definitely draws the eyes! ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CAR IS CLEAN!!!

There's tons of good cruising music out there.

I often have George Thorogood in the CD player when out and about in the Marauder.

You just described what it sounds like when I'm having sex.
Butt seriously, I blast everything from Mozart to Dr. Dre thru my speakers. Dean Martin followed by Megadeth. I don't care much for thrash metal where it's just a bunch of screaming that you can't understand, or rap songs that use the N word every other word. I listened to an Iron Maiden CD on the ride to work, and am listening to a Gnarls Barkley CD while typing this.

All depends on my mood, the road, and traffic. My tastes range from blues to outlaw country with classical, 50's, 60's, 70's 80's and classic rock in between. That's why I enjoy Sirius so much.

For just open road, windows down, kicked back cruising, two of my favorites are Eric Johnson and the Allman Brothers.
