Just saw on the MCM site that Mr. Jeff Nelson was killed in a crash of a Silver Birch last night. Is he one of us?

Here is the pic. The article says beige 4 door sedan, but this thing does have MM wheels. Maybe some of our southern SSM members will know.
Sad news.

That's too bad... I hope speed and/or alcohol were not a factor!
RIP fellow MM'er

Neither I nor Cobra25 know if this person ever was a member here. Other SB owners in the area (and group) were called to see if they were ok.

Although it is a sad story, one must consider other things here. He was young: 24. He was leaving a nightclub. Wet roads at 4am.
Now it may be he just fell asleep...that is VERY unfortuate. He then could be wished off to heaven (or where ever you believe).
OR
He was drunk and speeding. For that...tough! That is why you don't drink and drive! Simple. In that case, let's thank whomever that he only took out himself. I'm sorry but I just don't get why someone thinks they should have the right to get behind the wheel after getting loaded!
Just a side note: this is also why a seatbelt is installed in a vehicle. (He was ejected).
Prayers sent for his family.

I was thinking along the same lines, except I gave him the benefit of the doubt and hoped he was leaving a bar at 4am because he was the bouncer and he was sober. But if not and he was drunk, like you said.

I saw it on the news this morning. I under stand it happened around 6 am this morning. It was a Silver Marauder I saw it clearly on the 7am news & they reported they were looking into what happened. RoyLPita and myself called a few other Silver Marauder owners in our Group the make sure it wasn't them till we got the facts. The name reported was Jeffery Nelson 24 years old and they think that he may have been drinking. He hit a tree and the pass. side door was pushed in too the drivers side door , A really bad crash. I don't know if he was ever on this site or not and I don't recall ever meeting him . Either way it's sad too hear.

Drunk, sober, sleeping, it all doesn't matter. This is someone's baby. I heard some smart guy once say something about sinless people being the only ones who should throw rocks.

Worst thing to pull up on is seeing a kid dead... I don't care what he was doing, as said, that is someone's baby and I am glad that I am just the one that has to deal with the accident scene vehicle and body (tough enough as it is) and not the police officer that has to go tell his parents he won't be coming home!

Terrible Terrible Tragedy! What's so hard is that a momentary error can end up being an eternal one. My heart and prayers go to his family and friends!

My thoughts & prayers go out for his family. So young and so sad.
My co-workers relative, after being just diagnosed with breast cancer, just got bad news from the Dr. She was given one day to one week to live since she also has advanced brain cancer.
News like this makes you think of how fast a life can be ended.
