It was nice to see the Marlins win. I lived in South Florida in 97 and watched all the games that year...loved that series win...but when Huzienga dismantled that team...I quit watching baseball. Except for the occasional Mark Mcguire homerun update that year....

I watched the game last night......Marlins have played well and deserve to win......the so called "Fan" participation....was one play....he did not drive in or score all the runs the Marlins did to come from behind......

Nice win for the Marlins....but I just don't think I will watch it much....

I was big into baseball up until the strike a few years back. At that point, it pretty much rammed home the point that to most it's just a career. A very lucrative one, too. I wonder if anyone really cares about the game itself anymore...

My grandfather was a star soccer player in the Portuguese league back in the 40s and 50s. Like most players of any sport in the day, they did it for the love of the game. They all had weekly jobs of all sorts, and they fought hard for every weekend win they could get, usually for the princely reward of a free drink or two down at the clubhouse or town pub. He never wrecked a Ferrari at the expense of his teammate's life, he never ***** a woman in a hotel, he never doped himself with drugs living the high life or took steroids. While it's hard to pin the blame on any one reason, it seems we've lost the whole perspective of it all...
