I decided early on that any tattoo I had would have to be 1/3 tough, 1/3 ridiculous/stupid/silly, and 1/3 meaningful.

Adam...nice job with the tattoo. I had a feeling some here would be pretty ruthless with their comments, and jokes. :D I'm deciding on my first tattoo as well, which may end up being a sleeve. My wife has 3, so I think I need to get a move on! It does take some balls to post up though. IMO...you can't post something like that on here, and expect everyone to like it, or be supportive. IMO...a tattoo absolutely does not have to mean anything at all. A good tattoo is a good tattoo...it doesn't necessarily have to have some deep, elaborate meaning that all these TV shows like to drum up to get ratings.
I like it.

Lol, I was razzing him. It reminded me of a buddy who has a Rebel flag with Nebraska in a banner under it. I was there when he got it in 1989.
