I heard that changing the ring & pinion gears in a Marauder has an extra step involved, something to do with the parking/emergency brake. Lidio's shop charges an extra 25 for a MM over a Mustang because of this. I didn't ask him the reason why on the phone (I din't think to do so) so I am asking here - can you explain to me the issue and what needs to be done with it? Thanks.

you have to take the ABS sensor out to be able to slide the axles in far enough to get the C clip out but the parking brake does not get involved. You can orient the wheel studs on the axle such that they do not interfere w/ the parking brake. I suppose if you didn't take this 2 second long extra step you would find the axle hitting the brake shoe and then have to take the shoes off. But all you need to do is index the studs by turning the shaft on that side until they clear the shoes when you slide the shaft in. I have done several gear swaps on my car myself so I have had this assy apart

Thank you. I'll admit, I may not have transferred all the info correctly (he may have said sensor-he was quite helpful, I didn't ask him for more specifics at the time) Appreciate the help.

If Lidio wants an extra 25 bucks for something particular to the MM it is probably well worth it!!!
