Window Tint

Got my windows tinted on my new GM yesterday; 35% on the sides and 20% on the rear window (all legal in Texas). Planning on doing the Marauder the same way next month. I think it came out pretty good:

That looks good! Getting mine done Tues. Planning on 20% on the back window and the rear passengers. And after my inspection in Oct. I plan to tint the front driver/passenger windows 35%. (It is illegal to apply any tint to those windows in my state and it will have to be removed for inspection every 2 years). I hope the difference between 20% and 35% won't look strange. Maybe I should get 35% on all the passenger windows?

I didnt want my front and back windows looking different, like Im a driver for some rich slob in the back seat! In Texas the max is 25% on the side windows and anything on the rear window as long as you have side mirrors.

You got me thinking about this. Going for the same % for all passenger windows seems like a good idea. And stick to 20% for the rear only.

I hate when I can tell the difference in tint from the rear pass windows to the fronts. I have 32 on sides, and 22 on the back window, looks like this..

Will eventually redo to 5% all around, and maybe 50% windshield.

Thanks for posting the pic! Your tint looks great but since your car is black, I can see how 5% would give you that blacked out look which will be really great! I think the 35% should work well on my Silver Birch. Can't really go much more than that without asking for a ticket.:(

Sure, and I have never had problems with this tint even with police officers asking me to raise the windows while pulled over. But the 5% is asking for trouble if you use the car a good amount.

Ms. D. DaveSVT2000 has 20% all the way around and 35% on the drivers window... you would never be able to tell really. The reason being, since the law is 35% if he gets pulled they 99% of the time only check drivers window, and if he asks why it looks fdarker, if he could tell, its cause it has a black interior! ;)

Wish tint on the driver/front passenger was legal here. No one seems to think I'll get away with the 35% I'm planning on doing on those windows (after inspection). :( Don't care, doing it anyway.;) BTW I did the rear and rear passenger windows and am happy with that.

I have 20% tint on mine's all the way around. It hasn't seemed to cause me as much trouble as the tint on the black 300a's that I had did. But any tint is great to keep the direct sunlight off the leather. Nice Tint on the GMQ; excellent color too...

Here are the pics I took today of my Marauder with the newly tinted windows. The side windows are 35% and the back window is 20%, I think it turned out pretty nice. Not bad for a 5 year old car, eh?
