Ive been thinking about it more and more. I know there is home specific tint, but will auto stuff work fine?

I wana do my porch and my dad wants his bedroom window and porch to living room window done at his place.

I have done this to the windows on my west facing... It greatly reduces the heat and UV, here in Florida one must do anything they can to reduce heat infiltration.

You'll want to go with at least 8mil, the car film [I believe] is much thinner than that. The thicker film also provides a security barrier, but don't be lead to believe that its going to stop an intruder -- that's nonsense.

For the heat reduction alone, it's well-worth the money.

Its more for the privacy, and for the darkness (for my dad, he works nights, sleeps durring the day)

dont know if you have ever had it on your cars but it really does cut down on the heat.

Ive done the tint on my last 3 vehicles. I plan on doing the tint work on the house windows.

I have tinted MANY houses as well as cars. There are a few tint companies that have great solar, UV and heat reduction...IMO that is the only way to go. I own a very small home but this summer I have already saved about 20% in cooling charges. Keep in mind that tinting your home will also help heating costs in the winter.

Auto tint and Residential are not the same...stick with the correct tint and dont go cheap it is just not worth the hassle.

Any of the 3M tint or Solar Guard are my recommendations for both Residential and Auto.
