some of the MM members suggested go PI heads and Intake on the 2v. if done the set up will be
4.6l 2v(137k on the clock) with 4:10, 3500 stall conv., PI Heads & Intake, UD pulleys, (possible shot of NX)

now looking online i can get a 4.6 4v(used in great shape) for right around the same price as the PI head swap kit which would end in
4.6l 4v, 4:10, 3500 stall conv, UD pulleys,(possible NX shot)

which route would some of you go???

4v - look on crownvic.net there are a couple of people who have done the swap.

Dennis Reinhart could do the swap for you. Hes in your neck of the woods

yes DR tuned my car and did the work to a few of my friends cars. im sure he can do the swap but for the labor charge i can have it done else where and just have him retune it. i'll go look on CV.N too

PI heads on an NPI motor will raise the compression. Combine that with a shot of NOx and you have a high likelihood of premature BOOM. If you want to go with NOx, you might want to stick with the NPI heads with PI intake. I think the intake alone gets you about 15HP vs somewhere around 30-35HP for the full swap. You can also gain some by using the PI cams on the NPI heads (without raising compression), but I don't know how much.
I think that someone may offer a gasket now that eliminates the need for silicone or epoxy or whatever the heck they use to seal up the missmatch between the intake and heads.

The intake wont work....but it only gives you about 15 to 18 hp..intake is for a Mustang

You can use a PI intake on NPI heads, but there is a gasket issue that you need to research on a site more devoted to 2V motors. You can use PI cams in NPI heads with the PI intake = no compression issues. Then you can still add a shot of NOx. This would get you more that doing the full PI intake and head swap (including PI cams) without the shot of NOx.
Disclaimer: This is all theoretical because I have never performed any of the above mods, just contemplated them on my 96 Thunderturd 4.6NPI.

If it can fit a mustang 2v, it can fit a panther 2v... Just might need some minor work
