A friend and I spent a little over 5 hours on this Cobra R yesterday. I don't think the car had ever been detailed, waxed but never detailed.
I washed it 3 times Sunday in Dawn for prep.
We first claybared the whole car and got off a LOT of junk.
We used Meguire's Professional line products for the paint cleaning and buffing.
On the top had to hit it two steps. Andrew took care of the hood with a regular buffer and I came back over with my DA for a final buff, since for some reason the hood was repainted in a single step paint and not a base/clearcoat! I'm very surprised and happy at how well the hood turned out.
We both went over the car with DAs on the vertical surfaces with a light cut.
Then we washed and dried the car and put two coats of NXT.
The car now looks RED instead of dang Orange!
Sorry for the sucky pics!

She looks good now.

I forgot to mention that this is one of TWO turbo charged Cobra Rs in the nation...and it's in Phoenix also and we tuned that one also.
The other Cobra R just reciently set a new standing Half mile record for it's class at the Silver State run. It beat out Vettes and Vipers to set a standing half mile record of 150, but got disqualified from the standing mile because of not being qualified to run 187mph! LOL!

If I remember correctly the car is not, and never was, street legal. But you will get a sweet ride at the race track!

Cobra Rs are street legal. I have ben in Dave's R going down the street at over 100 in no time. His has a full roll cage in it.

I am not an expert on R's, ask DaveSVT2000.... he owns number 76 and is on the forum. He could tell you all about them.

In 2000, a special Cobra R came in limited production of 300 with a 5.4 L DOHC engine that was rated at 385 hp and 385 ft·lbf of torque, although independent dyno tests have shown that it produced rear-wheel output that nearly matched both of those numbers, suggesting the ratings may have been substantially conservative. This model was street legal; however it lacked many of the comforts the base production line Cobra enjoyed. This model had no radio, no air conditioning, and no back seat.
