The motor for my car was ordered yesterday. I am going to get a new motor, a transmission oil change, new fog lamps, and new carpets for the car. Bad news is that the motor will take 2 weeks to get to the dealer. The insurance guy even found out that the motor cracked. I do not understand how that happened? When I went 2 z the car during the week, we found out the motor did not have any oil. They decided to pick it up the next day to check the underside of the motor and they found out that the motor had split. The good news is that it is going to get fixed!

:D :banana2:

are you going to get a 04 motor?

I really do not know. Is it better?

well, it has two knock sensors so i think it is, but then you would be a two of a kind, i think some one in new england has one like that.

I am not too good with mechanics and stuff like that. What do the knock sensors do?

They listen for knocking and pinging due to the quality and octane level of gas you're running in the car. From there they let the computer know how much timing it can give or take away from the motor. This also allows for a bit more of an agressive timing curve if/when you get a chip.

Now you just need to talk them into an 04 tranny... :D

maybe they should be giving you a new transmission, especially if water got in yours.....

You will most likely get a remanufactured 03 Motor. These are motors that are either sent back due to warranty issues then rebuilt or leftover new motors. You will not get the dual knock sensors because it involves wiring changes in the computer, or possibly a new computer. Water never got into the trans because our radiators do not cool the trans fluid, the cooler is independent of the radiator. Hope this clarifies things.

If the transmission was submerged, there may be a chance that water entered it.
They will know when the fluid is drained
