Me thinks it's hard to call one's self a professional trap shooter when it costs far more to shoot the competitions than any possible income.
Sometimes, though, there are satisfying moments, like Sunday a week ago when I won the Doubles class championship at the Eastern Zone Shoot at Elysburg. There were about 1,000 competitors.

What did you score, handicap? Ever been to The Grand?
I haven't shot doubles but I love shooting singles.

Congratulations Mike, that's a GREAT accomplishment.
I just got back from the NRA Whittington Center in Raton NM. I was one of the Range Officer volunteers at the National Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC), and helped run the Sporting Clay range for the youth teams competing from around the country. They had fun, but no perfect score.

Thanks, yeah, that was the one. Since babbage asked, It's a Kolar Max T/A comp unsingle, two bbl set with factory custom fitted stock, and a very nice piece of wood I selected. :)
For those interested in scores, my ATA # 0762426 on their website, information center.

I could swear that I saw a response from Mike that said that "Traps" and "Skeets" taste better with BBQ sauce (or McIlhenny's Tabasco sauce - an Army favorite). However, that post seems to have disappeared completely. Please tell me that I am not having MM.Net hallucinations or that my C.R.S. has transitioned in full-blown C.R.A.F.T. :o

Yep you saw it, Charlie. Suddenly I realized there was way too much personal info concern travel & such, and deleted it. Also FYI those clay birds taste a little like spotted owl, but somewhat crunchy. Actually I prefer Dave's insanity sauce to maranate the little critters.
