Well in all fairness the car show has been planned for months, the weather, not to much so.....

Anyway, Im about 5 minutes outside town of the car show and it starts sprinkling, enough that I had to use the wipers, then I pull in, the rain stops, I register the MM, start setting up the canopy and wait for my buddy in the purple chevelle to show, it starts spinkling again.
The rain was off and on 5 times over the 1st hour, and EVERYBODY each time thought it was done, so we wipe down the cars, and BAM, it sprinkles again (thats why some pics have the hoods popped but not opened). After the 4th time most of us give up..... Me included.

OH did I mention it was also FRICKIN HOT OUT?!! Even after the rain it was crazy humid, but I guess.... the MM felt like showing off today so I endured.

Heres some pics....

Nice Chevelle!
I hit a charity car show in Elgin,IL. yesterday and it was pretty freaking hot,but no rain.I was wandering around when I hear what sounds like somebody fired up a rail dragster so I hobbled back to see and in pulls this 64 Fairlane 500,full on drag car, open headers, big slicks and roll bar.I darn near wet my pants,it was a Thunderbolt clone but so nicely done I probably wouldn't have known if the owner didn't tell me. I wish I'd have been there when he left to see if he made a pass with it.He had 2 other cars there too,a 64 Comet he built for his son with a monster big block in it set up real nice, roll bar and all and a nice 64 Bonne convert with 389,3 deuces and 8 lug wheels. Nice cars all.
There were also some Shelby Mustangs there, from the 60's and a couple of new ones too.
Of all the cars though my favorites were the Fairlane and a drop dead gorgeous black Pantera GTS.Stroked Cleveland,(oh did it sound GOOD!) and really re worked all over. The entire bell housing, transaxle and rear suspension were fully show polished. If somebody and said I could have whichever one of the two I wanted I'd probably be sitting there now talking to myself and trying to make up my mind. Needles to say I took a bunch of pics of those two as well as some other cars I found interesting. I got some nice pics that'll make JustBob drool of my favorite Chevy,a really nice 70 1/2 Camaro split bumper in BRIGHT Red,nicely done small block with an automatic,(darn),watch your email Bob,I'll send you some pics tonight.
BTW,there's supposed to be a really good car show in Hampshire,IL. today,on the grass in the park.
