For those of you who drive your Marauder during snow season I have a question for you.

How does your Marauder do in the snow?

Thanks

I only drive it in snow if I absolutely have no other choice!!! I try to stay on top of the weather forcasts. When snow or ice is in the forcast then I use my 1996 F-250 Power stroke 4x4 :D:

It's absolute crap in the snow which is why I bought the winter tire package offerred on this site. It's just like the Mustang GT I had with the big wide tires, it turns into a toboggan.

Greetings, Chief!

We get serious winters here in Caledon, Ontario, and have many secondary roads (snow covered from December to March). After 30 years of this, I would say that
with the right tires the Marauder has been as good as any car I've had. Just remember that TC is NG from a standing start in snow.

I have proper winter tires (not "all season") mounted on 17" wheels.

Details? I thought our 'winter package' involved 16 inchers...

I don't know about such a winter package. A mechanic friend found me used "Racing I", 7.5 x 17", 6 spoke alloy wheels and mounted Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 tires on them. Front is 225/55R17, rear 235/55R17.

It was a tough search trying to find wheels that would accomodate the brake calipers and tires that approximated the 'aspect ratio' of the OEM 'slicks' (235/245)

Total for 4 wheels, 4 tires installed was CDN$1768.00 before taxes.

The Winter Tire package thru Discount Tire Direct is based on 16" wheels and Michelin Arctic Alpine Tires. This was the least expensive solution (US$500). There is also a 17" option, which was mentioned on the Winter Tire Thread. It is available thru the same Vendor, but no group purchase. As for 17" tires, Michelin does offer a 215/60r17 Arctic Alpin for the front and 235/65r17 Pilot Alpin for the rear. They have several AL 17" wheels available that would fit our MM. Total price for wheels, tires, mounting and balancing and shipping (US) is about $900. If anyone is interested check the Winter Tire Package - Discount available Thread and check for more details or contact info!
By now, Tires.com should have the available 17" wheels listed on their website.
