just wanted to publicly thank Terry for making these AWSOME brackets available for us. i picked a set up from him a few weeks ago and they are just as nice if not nicer then the ones Zack sent me to copy (which i never did cuz im lazy :P not to mention they are pretty complicated). he even sent me a list of the bolts i will need which was a huge help. i paied $450 of these which i think was a pretty damn good price.

thanks again man!

for $450 I would expect a weld with more penetration, less undercut, and one that didn't look like snot.

I know what it takes to weld aluminum, but ****, when you charge a premium price, you should sell a premium product.

If I had the flow at the moment I would buy a set of these for $450. Clean them up and powder coat them to match the SB paint.

+1

If I'd done something like that at my last job, they would have sent back to the weld lab for more training.

They should polish up nicely though. Y'know, with the money you save on this, you could polish the blower too (wink, wink).

Um, did you notice the design and function of these brackets?
Welding is not even necessary for them to work once they are bolted down.

They look awesome to me.

Nope, I have zero clue how they work, but they look like ****. I could build a better looking bracket and sell it for half the cost, and still make out on top.

That's a horrible weld job, regardless if it needs to be there or not for the brackets to function. I don't see how they look awesome. it's not a quality weld, regardless of how you look at it. It looks like a double pass in some areas, which would be fine, but there's too much undercut, and the bead is awful.

Not bashing on you Dave, you didn't make them. But I PERSONALLY think you were ripped off. Adam and I have access to and are capable of maching small parts like this.

These are designed for Black Marauders only. They will not fit SB, DTRs or Blues.:D

Maybe it's because the picture isn't real focused...but top left and the one next to it both look like there's undercut on the weld. also the middle on the small bracket.

Easy way to splain it(forGTAW), when your torch burns into the metal, and your filler wire doesn't fill in that spot.

There are 2-3 buyers at Mach1 registry forum chomping at the bit for these. I won't be making any more of my version so somebody ought to go ahead and sell the gortch brackets to them...

I would like to thank everyone for their Complements as well as there Concerns about the welds.

As some of you may know I am not a business but a retired guy that has a 65 Mustang that I am installing a 04 MM engine with a Eaton SC and needed some brackets. I origonaly wanted to purchased a set from fordnut but didn't have the cash at the time. I checked around this area and couldn't get anyone to build them unless I was willing to purchase several sets and at a price much higher. I decided to build my own set and after spending a lot of time getting everything to fit I sent pic's to Zack and he liked them so I posted to this site that I could make them.

I realize the welds are not show quaility but are getting better. If anyone wants show quaility I can get a welder that can do this but the price would be much higher.

Again I appriciate all your input!
