Just put an order through MMR for their 850 Big Bore Stroker setup with the FRRP Iron Block. Will run NA w/9.5:1cr with ported heads and maybe FR500 or Cobra SC take offs ($100).

Just curious what everyone is getting out of a tank of gas. I don't plan on daily driving the MM but will occasionally. I take the train everyday so maybe only during the rainy season. BTW, 60 miles round trip hm/office.

Its either MM or the 3/4 Suburban.

I get 11 or so in town, and 16-17 @ 75-80mph on the freeway. Consider too that I have a low comp motor, the converter and 4.10 gears don't help either. Plus if I'm honest having 520+whp doesn't exactly inspire me to keep my foot out of it... once can only be so light on the throttle right? :o

Every time some uses the term "Big Bore" and modular ford in the same sentence I want to laugh...is this wrong of me?

Whats the difference between our MM cams and the FR500 cams??? Will you actually "hear" the difference?,, Will it add that much hp? My god we already have 4 valves per cylinder:eek: that can move a ton of air... do we need more:shake:. (The last was a Rhetorical question..) true gear heads are never satisfied............:D

I'll let you know my MPG in a couple of weeks, my 5.3 goes in in a week or so. I looked hard at MMR, but decided to go with Modular performance for the build. Mr. Tymensky is one heck of a nice guy, and here is a link to his build tactics.http://www.mustang50magazine.com/techarticles/m5lp_0809_big_bore_modular_bui ld/index.htmlI . I went with the Livernois stage3 heads and Ford GT cams on recommendation from John, he felt they would work out better for the heavier car, and feltlike the Comp or Crower cams might require a torque converter change. Get back on the fuel economy, right now I'm not expecting big numbers, gut they got to be better than my GT500

Nice choice. I did check out there site but ultimately went with MMR because there in Cali about 4hrs from me. I'll have to check on the Ford GT cams in a 4.6...I didn't think they were for the 4.6? But if I can have a smog legal cam that that would be the way to go. Thanks for the info. Keep me in the loop on your project.
