I think I found some great forums here so I'll skip the lurking and just jump in and say Hi. I'm hailing from the Motor City and see that there are a good number of members here in the area as well.

I recently picked up a 2004 MM and so far it's been awesome. I've put only a few hundred miles on and I'm still deep in the grinning stage:D Although I'm fairly accustomed to muscle car performance having gone through a few very modded late model mustangs (and still have an 86 GT in the garage that Lidio helped me build), it seems this MM really has what it takes to put the fun back into driving on a daily basis for me. Not sure if I'm gettin old or what, but I just prefer the classy muscle of the MM over the brute power/weight ratio of the Mustang.

The best part is that this MM actually performs much more stoughtly then I anticipated. After reading a good number of reviews I was expecting a little less oomph off the line. Yeah, it could definitely use some additional torque down low to get all the weight moving, but, unlike the reviews I've read, laying some decent rubber is only an accelerator jab away from a dig any time. I'm not sure if the dual knock sensors and improved timing for 2004 has actually helped a good bit, or whether there is just a good amount of variation from car to car. But, either way, I tend to believe the MM I'm driving is performing better than what many reviews described. Of course, I won't know until I get some track time.

I'm looking forward to doing some mods as the budget allows. Probably nothing until next spring though. I haven't seen Lidio from Alternative Auto in quite a few years since we finished off the mustang. I'm sure he'll be grinning when he sees me sniffin around the shop with new MM:)

Anyway, nuff about me. I'll see you guys around the forums.

Welcome Mike!

Well, you're the second new '04 Marauder owner to report that he can "burn rubber" bone stock. Many '03 owners here, even with chips and gears added, still can't lay a patch (many can--there seems to be a LOT of variance on this capability for both stock and chipped '03 Marauders). Must be due to the cumulative addition of more aggressive EEC timing (benefiting from the new dual knock sensors), and the minor improvements made to the transmission and torque converter in the '04.

For the record, I have an '03 300B with an EEC custom dynotune from Jerry (equivalent to a performance chip), underdrive pulleys, but stock gears, and on a good day, the tires will spin from a dead stop without torque-braking for only about a millisecond.

Welcome aboard Mike. I just test drove a '04 silver MM. One word to describe it---AWESOME!!!! I just might try to own one.

Hey Mike! I too went from a Mustang ('00 GT 6M) daily driver to the MM. As much as I liked the Mustang, I love the MM.

I also have an '04 and so far it's been great. I am not sure yet if I can lay down the double black ribbon as I haven't tried that just yet. I can tell you it hasn't happened by accident yet but that may be the TC.

I haven't yet been able to compare a stock '03 to a stock '04 yet. The only '03 I drove was modified.

Have fun.

Hey Mike, come up to Wild Woodys on sunday. It is on Gratiot. Lidio and his MM will be there with the rest of us. We meet around 3:00 until dark. It will be nice to have you with the gang.

Howdy Mike!

If you live in or near the Detroit area, you must visit Trilogy!

If you think a stock Marauder is a blast, try out a blown Trilogy car! You wil be grinning for weeks!

I wish I could be closer to the Marauder modders, but for now, I'll settle for this forum.

You are are hooked, and that is just the BEGINNING!
