Here is my monthly billing for my cars minus the house.

Marauder with speed equipment $50.34
2005 Chrysler Town&Country $66.61
1997 Ford Escort $47.93

Now the Rauder is listed as recreational but that never dropped the rate anyways, plus my adjuster (for the last ten years) told me to install whatever I could dream up, just take pics. The mommyvan only sees 2000 miles a year because my wife only works 3 (very long) days a week four blocks from the house. The Escort is my DD and gets driven about 20 - 25000 miles a year. My question is, how in the world do they come up with these prices? Also the Rauder was listed as a GM for the first six months of ownership because they had trouble with one digit in the vin. Guess what happened when they got the vin staightened out? IT WENT DOWN! only about $7.00 bucks a month but still.
When I asked them about the Escort and why so dang high they simply said thats what popped up in their database for my region. Do we have any insurance agents here that could explain this in simple terms? This all just seems a little back asswards to me.

Everytime I'd renew the insurance on my '81 Z-28 they would ask if it was a Berlinetta version. I said no, I like women. What does it matter anyway? Oh they get stolen more, they said, so they cost more to insure. Good, I would say. Maybe your Escort is high on the stolen list??

High chance of bodily injury in a collision is the reason why.

I'm only up for about $87 a month for full coverage insurance on my Marauder, and being a 20 year old guy I think it's fantastically cheap. I actually pay less for this car than I did my 2002 Galant.

I think fate's trying to tell me I'm on the right path. ;)

I think the premium is high on the Escort based on use.
You drive a butt ton of miles:P

Mine was metalflake semi-dark blue with the different colored blue-ish greyish stripes. Great car, but it was actually falling apart when I sold it. So many stories with that thing!

That must be what happened to me and him. I don't know if we could even make one normal man-ass if we combined ours.:(

SF bases rates on the amout of claims paid in the area of the insured vehicle. So, if you have a Marauder, and say that there are 10 in your local area, and no one has had a claim, guess what.... your rate goes down, because that model car in your local area has not had any claims.

Obviously, everyone around you must drive a minivan.
