Palm Pre and iPhone Wallpapers

I've had my Palm Pre for just about 2 months now, and I usually use a pic I took as a wallpaper, but a homebrew app recently released allows my wallpaper to randomly change up to every 15 minutes. Rather than monkey around with manually changing wallpapers, I know just make sure I've got a folder set aside of things I want to see on my phone. While amassing this folder, I realized that the iPhone has the same background dimensions (320 wide by 480 tall), so all of the previously created iPhone wallpapers would work, as well as image with a width to height ratio of 2:3.

So I spent some time trawling through iPhone sites and my own library of images to get what I wanted. Of course, this contained some Marauder photos. So I thought I'd post a handful of my Marauder wallpapers, as well as some more general automotive, and a handful of unrelated wallpapers. Please download and use, and also, if you've got some good Marauder wallpapers in 320x480, please post them here! Enjoy!

A Blackberry theme is not the same thing as a 320x480 image wallpaper for the Pre or iPhone. :shake: Being informed is your friend.

We're supposed to be getting a WebOS update in the next 24 hours, which should include the ability to download files and images directly from the web, so hopefully you can return to this thread in the next week and pull some of these down! :beer:

Really? What other changes are coming? I would like to be able to change the sound on text messages. Maybe be able to play .avi or .wma files. Also a video camera option would be nice.

Changing the sound on txt msgs: Not a stock functionality, but you can do it with light software modding, and you don't have to be a hacker. Surf around http://www.precentral.net/homebrew-apps for a while, and if you feel comfortable enough to install homebrew (at your own risk), http://www.precentral.net/homebrew-apps/my-notification will let you change your notification sound. And while we're there, http://www.precentral.net/homebrew-apps/switcharoo lets your wallpaper change at random once every 15 minutes. The initial setup to pull down fileCoaster and install it took maybe 30 minutes, with me poring over every direction detail, but since then, I've been able to pull up the homebrew program catalog at the flick of a finger and check for new apps (195 as of 10am CST).

.avi/.wma: While it still doesn't play these natively, I found a program called HandBrake, which allows conversion into iPod formats, which works fairly well on the Pre. I'm sure a video program for native .avi/.wma will pop up in the App Catalog or the Homebrew Community sooner or later.

Video camera: Rumor has it that a video camera program will be for sale in the App Catalog within the month. I know that some homebrewers had some nice starts, but I'll probably just by something professionally made with some support.

Yes, if folks have been hacking at the root command line level of their Pre, all of their changes will be undone by the push of 1.2, and they could potentially brick their devices if the tweaks are enough in conflict. I haven't done any hacks or tweeks, only the installation of fileCoaster to allow me to download homebrew apps. Worst case scenario is I brick my Pre and take it back to Sprint for an insurance claim, they send me a new one, and I resync from the Sprint server and do it all again.
