View Full Version : My mom passed this weekend.
She would have been 89 next week. She went peacefully and with little pain. She was in a fantastic nursing home for the last two years, close to her children and grandchildren. She decided it was time and stopped eating at least two weeks earlier. I got to see her last week while she was still cognizant and had to return to FL tuesday. I am back in NH now for the services.
My father passed a few years ago.
My mom was a tiny woman but she had 9 boys and four girls, 34 grandchildren, and I honestly don't know how many great and great-great grandchildren.
She was the nicest person in the world and embodied unconditional love.
Truly sorry to hear this. I hope your family is holding up well.

Sorry for your loss juno....it is never easy but for sure she had a long life and made many of you very happy!!!
I lost my Mother in 1974 to cancer and was holding her hand when she took her last breath.....I was 26 and have remembered that day EVERY day since!!!:alone:
Consider yourself very lucky to have had her with you for so long!!
I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds as if she lived a full life and left behind her many loving offspring to extend & cherish her memory.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your mother,I lost mine back in Jan.1988 and I still miss her and always will. But if you look you'll see she's still here, there's some of her in you, your siblings if you have any and in all those grand kids, great grand kids and great great grand kids.
You can mourn her passing but you should also celebrate her life.

Add one to the condolences list. I know how it feels, and it isn't fun. The good news is, she will still be nagging you to eat your vegetables for years to come.
The lessons our mothers teach us are never forgotten.
Sorry for your loss, condolences to you and your family.

Sorry for your loss. I like that she was aware of her situation and was able to decide when to check out on her terms. That unconditional love thing is something she passed on to those around her. Celebrate her life in your memory and pass on the memory of her love to all the kids and grandkids with good bedtime stories when you can.
Peace

My condolences to you and your family. Even when you and them are ready it still hurts to let the ones you love go. You will be in my family's thoughts.
I want to thank everyone for the kind words and condolences.
All in all, everything went well and we made a point to treat the process as a celebration of her life, not to mourn her death.
Thanks again folks!!!
