Just arrived home from the meet. At least 15 Marauders present. Triple TA was there all the way from Canada. There were 2 Kenny Brown Marauders #'s 1 & 8. Good time was had by all. A special thank you to Mary AKA Bunny Lady. Lots of pictures to follow.:D

Hope all made it home ok from our 'Raid on Hershey' tour.
What a blast. It was so nice to see familiar faces again, and meet some new ones. In particular TTA3 who drove in from Quebec and Merc that drove in from Virginia. This was a nice get together.
We made it home in 7 hours as I-76 the Penna turnpike is one road challenge in itself. I only ran one guy off the road, unintentionally, and otherwise covered 750 some odd miles event free. And of course, didn't take a rock chip to the windshield until we were on our infamous I-77 5 miles from home.
Can't wait till next year...and Marty: Gage says HI!

Close. TTA, not TT3, and it's Quebec, not Ontario. And I was driving an Impala SS, not a Marauder. Okay, I'm kidding about the ImpSS thing... ;)
Made it home in 9.5 hours. Smooth sailing.

That was indeed an awesome shot, Mike. I hope someone managed to get a shot of some oncoming traffic and the expressions on the occupants' faces as our giant convoy (well, these are large cars!) went by them.
Here's another angle.

Nice pic...I wondered where that stone in the back seat came from. Heck, I found two dried corn cobs, a small pumpkin, a bag of pretzels, THAT stone, and a tailgate from a ford f150 in the car when I emptied it this evening!
BTW:
I asked LML to merge the two Hershey threads...my bad...this time I didn't pay attention. Sorry JGC___. Keep posting on both threads, hopefully LML will sort this out.

Hey Cruztaker, do you have job? I see you go to every event. Thats ok though. It was nice meeting you last week in Ohio. I hope everyone had a good and safe time.
Great to see everyone again and great to meet some new friends. A special thanks to all the long distance drivers.
Barry thanks for trying to touch up my crunched bumper. I certainly hope that I was the one that got any damage on the trip. Some truck or SUV must have hit me when my car was parked. It cracked my front driver side turn signal and pushed my bumper all the way in. It needs to be repainted or replaced.
Mac & B26 thanks for the rides in the Kenny Brown cars they were awesome and fast as hell. Mac had me go WOT from a dead stop and for a second I thought we were going to buy the farm.
Ok what are we doing next?
:bows:
I'm on the phone with Mac, he's in Columbus, Ohio...making his way back...has a couple stops to make....and doesn't have access to the site on the road but, wanted to be sure y'all knew he's fine but can't check in. He'll be back in the Big windy towards the middle of the week....

OK! Here the facts on the Big Kiss.
It was a female worker doing the job.
She worked 12 hours that day.
I could choose our character.
Mac planted the idea in my head.
It was joke a about the "new" fender badge.
After we all took the ride through "plant" there was a display of the kiss toy dolls in this huge bin.
Hershey's people were very very co-operative.
We were parked in the outbound bus (motorcoach) lane.
It was very busy day at Chocolate World.
We turned a lot of heads with that display of Marauders.
People were  as too what/who we were/are?
The most fun you can have with your clothes on.:)

We are new to the board and we wanted to let everyone know that we had a GREAT time in Hershey. Everyone was very friendly and welcomed us into the group (it was better than a HOG rally). We have learned a lot from the board and it was nice to put a face with the username. During our 2 hour drive home, we had some fun with a Camaro SS going 120 mph down US 15 until our rpms hit 5500 and then dropped off to 4000, letting the SS pull away. :mad2: We want to thank Bunnyrun for letting us crash the "Raid" at the last minute. Cruztaker ... sorry about the chip in the windshield. What a bummer!

Looking at some of the metadata for some photos, I see I kept my 80-200mm zoom pretty much open at f/2.8 for some reason. :( That meant a shallow depth of field for lots of photos, so some may look "soft". Sorry.... guess I got caught up in the excitement.

To ALL:
Sorry I couldn't hang around and have dinner with you at Miller's. Bet you all had a great time. Spent most of the day with all who attended, and I would like to thank you all for a great time. What a great bunch of guys and gals I met in Hershey. I had a great time at breakfast , with the conversation and the parade of Marauders down 422. Leaving both the car wash and hotel with traffic stopped was a blast. Those people must have thought we were nuts! Can't wait till the next meet. Hopefully, the next spring/summer national meet will have a tentative date soon so I can make advance work arrangements. Current job requires all vacartion time for the entire year be scheduled in January. It's not really set in stone, but it does get harder to make changes after the other 15 - 20 guys schedule theirs too. Bristol sounds like a great place to meet.

I was Barry's tail car on this route, when this something went wrong. However, no paint traded, just attiudes at the next rest stop.
I gave Barry my "all clear" exactly when another decided to power up and take his place. Two vehicles cannot occupy the same space, yes? I learned a lot following Barry on the PA turnpike, a whole lot!

I'm sitting here having a last look at the Hershey pics trying to entertain my sick little boy (common cold, hopefully nothing more) and he starts saying something that sounded like "Mahquis". ???
I'm like: how does he know what a Grand Marquis looks like, and why is he pointing at the Marauders and saying "Marquis"? Is this some kind of sick little kiddie joke?
Then I come to a photo of Marty, and he goes nuts, saying "Mahquis! Mahquis! Mahquis!"
I do believe he was saying "Marty".

/Steve...I've been trying to find a way to contact you since I arrived home, and without any joy. Seems I have insulated myself so well against you and your presence on the MM.net, I can't call for help if I had too. That's not good (in my book) and that has to change.
Yes, my friend, I've learned a lesson this weekend too, and I am not so short, or, shy to admit my misgivings in the same venue I used to accuse.
Forgive me for past transgressions? You are a good man, and a trusted friend now, today. I apologize for our public exchanges of the past, and you have earned nothing short of this public apology. We will not visit those times again.

Sarge, thanks for the kind words, they are very appreciated. As I said on Saturday morning, it's all water under the bridge, ancient history.
To all my good friends on MM.net:
I've been on internet boards and e-mail lists since 1992 (all F-body except for an early participation in a GN/T-type group back in 1992/1993 when I was still semi-serious about buying a turbo 3.8, before the GTA came into my life)... the greatest challenge in this electronic medium is effectively conveying emotions and expressions. Smilies are a Godsend in this regard, but it's still far far far from perfect. I've seen a lot of potential friendships get torpedoed right off the bat from simple misunderstandings online. Myself, I've tried to keep this in mind whenever posting something for others to read, but I'm sure I've been guilty of many instances of falling into the trap I described above.
It doesn't help that even though we all communicate in a common language, there are so many local variations in vernacular that sometimes a totally different meaning can be obtained from an otherwise simple piece of writing. And then we get communication breakdowns yet again. (as a side note: thank you again to those who've answered my "what does this phrase mean?" messages when it came to local expressions).
I think it was BigDogJim that said I'd never look at this board quite the same way again after meeting members face to face... no truer words could be said. I've had the good fortune of making great and long lasting friendships with folks I've met on the various F-body online organizations and I'm glad to say MM.net was no exception.
To Sarge in particular:
I went to Hershey looking to add some pretty wonderful people to my list of friends, and I'm hoping I came away from the event with a perfect score, but I'm particularly honoured to be able to count you among those friends.

Yes, thankfully there has been a resolution, interestingly enough. More info within the respective thread.

From your posts that I have read it seems like I could learn a lot from you.:bows: Hope to met again and talk some more.

Likewise, Haggis, I didn't get much of an opportunity to get to know you either, it was tough to devote the necessary amount of time to get to know everyone when one has a kid to tow around. I see you were in the same situation as well! :)
I completely understood the salt in the wound comment, I was just hoping you didn't think I had taken it the wrong way. I've seen what misunderstandings can do to friendships, I didn't want to risk a re-occurrence. Funny about how different backgrounds (geographical and cultural) make it so that it takes 6 posts in a thread to basically say:  all is good! :)
Interesting thought crept into my mind on reading your 'friend' comment... you know, it really is just a car, this thing called a Marauder. What makes the site what it is, is the special people that participate on it. Truly something to be proud of, and nurtured...

It is not just a car anymore, it is something that is bringing people together. It is something that we have in common. It bridges borders, language, race, religion and politics. It is the Marauder. I don't know just go with the flow :D :coolman:
Alls cool!!:coolman:

I vote we get TAF a L-I-F-E...............
Way too much time on that mans hands!!!
Well, I had a super time. I really regret not being able to make the Ennis meet after getting to know all of you. It was just about the best time I had this entire year. Good food, good fun, good friends.....and a line-up of future collectible cars. Oh yeah, and chocolate literally in the air!
I won't post my speeds because I don't want to risk Mac throwing the 'cuffs on me next time we meet  , but safe to say I think my record is likely to stand for a while unless it ends up in the same category as air-flight...he he
We need to do this again, soon. I was totaly stoked from this!!
Thanks to all for a great time.....

My new G-5 dual processor Macintosh is in and I have the equipment to do my video editing. I started with a small quick time movie of the gang departing form the car wash on Saturday morning. I am working on the un-edited full version of the event. Currently the total size is 5.9 gigs. I have placed a sample in the photo library for everyone to reminisce.

Forgot to mention, if anyone wants to contribute material for a CD's worth of photos, you can PM me in order to send me the raw full size photos on CD, which I will then resize and compile into one CD and send out to anyone who wants it.
Nice offer triple T, I will send you the pics I have.

Ok guys I posted another movie in the Hershey event area. Logan, don't kill me if the file is too large, the devil made me do it.

I can't open the movies.
Paul you have to download Quick Time player (the free version) to view the movie.
Microsoft media player doesn't work on this file.

My golfing buddies are starting to wonder if the MM is turning me away from golf. Since I come back from the Hershey trip I can't taking about the The Car.
Great movie and Thanks for the memories!!!

Yea Steve that sounds great. I will also take one if you don't mind. Thanks.
Triple G, maybe instead of a golf cart you could use your Marauder?
I was trying to be nice and not kick up any stones leaving the car wash.

Before I can commit to this, I need material. Merc has graciously offered to send footage, if anyone else wants to participate, PM me and I'll send you my details. Preferably the raw uneditted uncompressed uncropped un-resized stuff, since I can then make a common size for all images (and that includes any "stinkers", you'd be surprised at how well I can rescue some otherwise - spoiled photos).
Eagerly awaiting participants...

Our photos are the old fashion kind, on film. We have them developed, now just need to scan them in. Will they be ok for what you have planned.

You can either scan them into a computer then onto CD, or you could mail doubles to me and I'd scan them in myself, and send them right back to you along with the finished CD. Your choice.
I posted another video for your viewing pleasure in the Hershey event area.
It's labeled "Raid on the Chocolate Factory"
The sound track is Mercury Blues by Meat Loaf, thanks Mad3R for the cd.
