View Full Version : A Favor to Ask

Hi All,

I have a favor to ask you guys. If you have a moment, please read on.

For the past year, I've been working on a very significant technology project at work, one that I feel will revolutionize server grid computing architectures for some years to come. It's basically an intelligent command system that can sense and react to changing business dynamics and automatically provision (or retract) servers across a grid as it deems necessary to fulfill SLAs. I, and a few others, devised this concept last summer, and have since invested a lot of time and money into developing it.

Recently, we won the Red Hat & JBOSS Innovation Award for Outstanding Open Source Architecture for this platform (code-named Imperia). In doing so, we are now eligible for the Red Hat / JBOSS Innovation of the Year Award. This is a highly coveted award given out to only one project per year. We're competing with the likes of Geico, Verizon, Whole Foods, etc.; relative giants compared to us. Luckily, the big award is open to public voting for the next week or so.

I'd really appreciate it if you could spare about 20 seconds and click on the link below to vote! Just follow the link, click on Vote Now, and then cast a vote for Ecommerce + Vizuri for both categories!

Also, if you'd like to read the case study for the project, simply click on the Ecommerce Logo on the page!

Many thanks!

I'm having some problems getting to RedHat this morning, but I'll add a few more at work. Ironic, because this morning I'm setting up an HP Blade centre c7000 with c460 Blades and adding it to our VMWare cluster. I'll do it from the new Guests on the blade centre. ;)

Cool :)

Just this week, I'm installing 128 BL260's with dual Xeon 2.5 GHz and 24GB and three EVA 8400's :)

Ooooo! New toys! I added ~10TB to our SAN too. But it's an IBM DS4400, 'cause thats who I work for. ;) The customer is Government, so of course they bought bits of it during 'March madness' and the Fibre controller in the Blade Centre (Brocade) is incompatible with the infrastructure (Cisco) they already have. Typical.

But your project sounds wicked cool! I am in awe sir! :bows:
