The Trip

So last week the Airforce finally gave me my "go-ahead" for my orders to Dyess AFB Tx. I have been at Dover AFB, Delaware for 6 years now and needed the change of scenery. I also get to pick up my new black beauty on the way down!!

Heres the trip....

Friday night, tropical storm is coming so we are forced to pack all afternoon untill late at night. Accidently packed the key for my cadillac so i had to jump start it to get it on the trailer.... some night.

We get up early sat morning and head out on the road. My father flys in to help me with the drive. I load up the dog and we head out.

Cant start out a trip without good tunes right? So i expertly install a XM radio on the truck..... with duct tape.

Most of the trip go without a hitch, my fater and I take turns driving, tenn and virgina feel the longest. Virgina and arkansas have the worst roads by far.

Driving through memphis we see this passing us on the road...... seriously, who would still drive this?

On day 3 (today) we get up and drive just outside of dallas to pick up my new car.

I love it!! super smooth driving, comphy interior, pulls like crazy. I was going like 60 down the highway when i first picked it up and a charger R/T pulled up next to me and was looking over and smiling and stuff. I gave him the thumbs up, clicked off the O/D, stomped it, and left him with his head spinnin. He caught up to me and gave me the thumbs up. I think im in love with her. :bows:

The uhaul drove great. I may sugest for ray that he orders it a couple weeks ahead of time and have them save you a newer truck. Ours only had 14k on it and it drove flawlessly. The cadillac is a 1950 its on 4 corner airride and has a bored out 472 (484) fully p and p heads, custom crank and cam, forged internals and a triple rodchester setup on top. My appologies....I wasnt aware there was a car show the day before Centerville....I thought you ment you were going to Centerville on the 31st. Centerville is about half way between Dallas and Houston, so you may decide to do one or the other....if you can make it, I would suggest you go to Centerville and meet people from all over Texas as this one only happens once a year....your local car shows happen all the time. If you cant make it, no biggie....we will meet another time. Hope you enjoy your new post....and thank you for your service....

By the way....are there 2 different size anntennea adapters for satalite radio....I bought one and it doesnt fit my Burb...but it will fit my Marauder, I ask since you said your were a certified installer.

The car show is in Southlake, TX and there will only be about 50 cars--I am sure there will be about 3 times more Marauders at Centerville and you will meet our group from all over Texas and Louisiana. I plan to leave the 31st show early so I can be fresh for the trip the next day. See you soon, Maury

Matt, I live in Dallas and am skipping the show on the 31st myself and am attending our Centerville picnic. As was said earlier, its the one thing where all the MM owners from Houston, San Antonio and Dallas/Ft Worth get together. I wouldnt miss it.
