Please lift up my grandfather in your prayers. He was a strong Catholic and was definitely one of God's true followers. He was a pharmaceutical salesman after being a pilot in the Navy. He wanted to serve his part in WWII, but he was such a great pilot that they wanted him to stay behind and be an instructor. He had a way with words and could make anyone smile. His smile could light up a room. At the assisted living place he was in they called him the "mayor" or Notre Dam... When he passed, the whole building was affected and it was amazing to see how many people he touched! He was an incredible man and will truly be missed by MANY!

I found out my dad is trying to find a guy that will do a fly over for my grandfather's funeral. Just wants a plane of some sort to fly over somewhat low and slow, and rock the wings back and forth. If he can pull that off I will ball my eyes out like a little biatch! haha

It is with extreme sadness that I read your post, another fine WWII US Navy veteran has passed -- we have truly lost a hero!
My condolences to both you and your family... May he rest in peace.

My other grandfather that passed a couple years back was in the navy... his ship (the USS Canberra) was struck and started to sink and had to be evacuated... He also was a WWII hero! I miss them both and the constant stream of interesting stories they had!

Very sorry to hear of your loss and a WWII VET pass. Sounds like he was quite a guy and I'm sure you were proud.
