The Top of the World restaurant in the Stratosphere is a cool place to eat. The view can't be beat. If you go during the day, the prices aren't bad, but they go up quite a bit at night.
Tom there is a lot of good places in Vegas. For breakfast the little rest. by the flower garden at the Bellagio is good. The Paris also has a good breakfast. Go to the mall part of Ceasers to the Salsa Mexican place for good food at resonable price. Good drinks also. As far as other places there are many and it has been our experince that most are good.

My two favorite dinner places (buffet) are Rio: Carnival World Buffet and Paris: Le Village. Make sure and visit In-N-Out Burgers for lunch one day. For drinks, you can't beat Bill's $1 margaritas, they're weak but just get 1 margarita and 2 shots of tequila then mix it all together for an excellent $3 margarita! Best breakfast buffet I've found is at Boulder Station, cheapest decent breakfast buffet is at Terrible's.
The really cheap buffet that Vegas used to be famous for is pretty much history. Quality makes up for it though.
We stayed once when the rates went down. The place I am talking about is back in the corner where alll the flowers were at. I dont think they had a buffet but the menu was great. The Paris has a great buffet also.

In-N-Out Burger joint is an experience. Mcdonalds could learn from them.

I always go to Gallaghers in New York, New York - probably the best steak I'm ever going to get....
There are also some excellent restaurants in the MGM.
The only buffet worth going to in my humble opinion is the Bellagio.
I love Vegas - have a great time.

I tried that one the last time I made a trip out there, wasn't really impressed. Nice, fancy dishes but not much variety and a high price. But we've all got our opinions!

I go the Vegas 3x a year, just booked my November trip with some friends to celebrate my 30th. I've been to all the buffets. ALL of them. Rio is the one i keep going back to. For great food at a VERY reasonable price, check out Grand Lux, on the casino floor at Venitian by the escalators. You won't be disappointed. HUGE menu, great atmosphere, gret prices, big drinks.

True, very true. Nothing more subjective than food likes and dislikes. Whenever I go to Vegas ( and the USA in general) I`m continually disappointed by the lack of decent marmalade, HP sauce and Clamato juice. But that`s me....I will certainly agree with you on the In-n-out burger - excellent food and value!

Oh, other than eating places: ride the New York, New York roller coaster and the Stratosphere ride that shoots you out over the edge. See the Fremont Street light show. Explore Caesar's Palace, there are several statues that "come to life" in the Forums. Cool off in the forest at the Mirage. The volcanoes at the Mirage have just been remodeled, should be a decent thing to watch in the evening. See the fountains at the Bellagio. There's a cool car museum on the strip I think it's at the Emerald Palace (edit: Imperial Palace). Go to Boulder Dam, they're building a new bridge which should be very interesting to see from the overlook (I saw it from a plane last time I was there, they're building from both ends and meeting in the middle.) Death Valley is HOT.

So yeah, if we're talking about nice, sit-down-and-order steakhouses, spend $$$, there's Morton's, Lawry's, Ruth's Chris, Rosewood, and Tillerman. Tillerman has an excellent steak, and it's a local joint instead of a chain. It's on Flamingo, near Eastern.

There's also a Grand Lux at the Palazzo.

If its open (was closed for remodeling last time I was there), Sir Galahads at the Excalibur has some of the best Prime Rib I've ever had. Nice place with a decent price too.

What do you want to eat? We've got just about anything you could ask for.
If you like seafood, the Rio has a buffet that even includes lobster.
Italian: Carluccio's Tivoli Gardens or Buca di Beppo.
German: Haufbrau Haus is an authentic recreation of the one in Germany right down to the oompa bands and real German bier.
Mexican: my favorite is Casa Don Juan on Main St. near Charleston.
Burger: forget In-N-Out, they're just a chain burger joint that makes a so-so burger. Big Dog's Brewery offers the Bratzel, a bacon-cheese burger topped with a bratwurst and served on a pretzel bun. Never met anyone who didn't love it and their micro-brews are sure to please the beer connoisseur. Go to either the Sahara or Rancho locations, the one on Nellis doesn't have the Bratzel.
Chinese: lots of buffets all over town, but if you want quality over quantity head for China Town.
Breakfast: Blueberry Hill, Omelet House and Original Pancake House are all excellent choices.
Dessert: Cheesecake Factory; Famous Dave's BBQ makes a bread pudding to die for; Leatherby's has great ice cream treats (the food is mediocre, so stick with the ice cream). Buca di Beppo also has a homemade cheesecake that rocks and will easily serve 2 or 3.
Bon appetit!

Believe it or not, one of the best meals I've ever had in Vegas was at the Range Steakhouse at Harrah's..
Three of us went, and including tip, it came to $65 each.. We were all completely stisfied with our meal, the service, and atmosphere.
If you're walking past Harrah's and look up, you will notice a row of blacked out / tinted glass that runs along the whole face of the building - this is the restaurant.
For buffets, I like the Mirage first, MGM second, and Planet Hollywood third.
Oh, and In N Out Burger on Tropicana Ave. FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
I woud not reccomend the Rio Buffet any more they have really gone down hill, The original owners just finished a new hotel. The M Resort. The buffet there is really good. The same family that used to own the Rio owns this one. It is at the very south part of The strip Exit 146 St Rose and I-15. Las Vegas Blvd is on one side also. It is a long drive to get there from the Tourst area. Take the freeway south.
Also for a more casual local place The Peppermill near the Rivera. It is on Las Vegas Blvd, at the north end of the strip, is really good and has large portions. They also have a excellent bar in the rear.
If you want off the strip and like buffet's the Green Valley resort in Henderson is good as well. They have a steak house and other places there to eat as well. A good Casino as well. All of these have websites.
Hope this helps.
