Do I drive a bucket?

I have heard this term in two songs... "I drive a bucket."

One called I Ain't The One by N.W.A. and some old car song from the 50s also sung by an African American. What does this term mean? Is it a slang term for a car, beater, bulky car? I looked it up and cannot find anything except T-Bucks and I know Ice Cube probably wasn't driving one of those in the CPT. ;)

usually slang for a beater but some people tried to start a trend and make it mean a nice car....sorta like the word "bad". but it is more widely known as a raggedy vehicle.

"Bucket" sounds more like "Money Pit" to me. It is not the same as the "T-Bucket".

Old term was "bucket of bolts" meaning an old car, falling apart, needing repairs all the time.

Now it's just "bucket"
