Patricia, my lovely wife, has, of late, been concerned for her personal safety and that of our home front.
I think what percipitated this feeling is the timing of several public threat assessment briefings by local law enforement agencies, the exploding illegal immigrant population, the witness of civil order breakdown during natural disasters, AKA hurricane Katrina for expample, and the growing Muslim, seemingly unfriendly, population here in our town.
Her reaction to all this is to arm herself and her family, me. To that end she attended a fire arms orientation class and learned a little about various pistols suitable for women. She fired about 18 shots from three different pistols, a .22, a .38 special and a .380 revolver.
Here is a picture of her target. Not too shabby for a woman who has never fired anything bigger than a .22 varmit rifle 55 years ago.
We are considering a pistol for her and a 12 guage pump for the house.
She has to go through all the concealed weapon processes and then we will decide on a pistol.
I'm also sensing this attitude in many of the men in the posse and other families in my neighborhood. Attitudes that didn't exsist before.
Word up.
(Me? I'm not worried, my hands are registered deadly weapons, yea right.)
